I am going out of town on business and was looking to see if there were any good shows around and stumbled across a group called The Hot Sauce Committee.

The repurposed the old LTI logo for their stuff.

I thought it was going to be a Beastie Boys tribute group. Turns out it is a 90s pop tribute group. And it is terrible. Could the BBoys sue for tarnishing their name?

If only I could harness all the suck factor that band possesses, I could easily vacuum most of Trenton.

I had incredibly low expectations and even they were not met.

It does say that one of their "themed" parties is a bboy tribute.

They're just a cover band. I don't think they can be sued for using the name. A lot of bands have used other bands' album titles for their names. I guess they could try to sue them but I don't know if they could win?

The thing I don't understand is that they are a 90s cover band, but the name is not a 90s reference at all.....the album came out in 2011.....weird....

They're just a few guys having fun and making music - I'm sure it's a concept that everyone on this board is familiar with.

Yes weird indeed. Why even make homage to the Licensed to Ill logo and the Hot Sauce name if you are not strictly a Beastie cover band!! Or at least playing music that beastie boys fans might actually like. Some punk, early hip hop, funk, soul, jazz instrumentals.

I am offended, too.
