When I think of Kurt Loder and the Beastie Boys, first thing I think of is him introducing the first MTV Check Your Head news feature by saying they "went down the tubes" with Paul's Boutique. But I found this clip the other day, and while I've seen the feature before, I don't remember Loder's obvious excitement about Paul's Boutique.

He says Rick Rubin isn't on board "but trust us, it doesn't matter", then announces the release date and says "you've got to hear it!"

I know, maybe this isn't cause for a whole thread, but what the hell. Anything that disrupts my Beastie memory timeline maybe does for others too.

Nice.
Also, I've always thought of Kurt Loder as an enthusiastic Beastie fan.
I remember when he did the report on the then upcoming Hello Nasty album, he looked almost as excited as I was!

Yeah I've always gotten the vibe that Kurt loves the Beastie Boys.

Ben somehow doesn't seem to have that CYH MTV News segment I was talking about - at least I can't find it.
