The results are interesting but not as much as you may think. I'd love to lay a 1kg-er one day.

I do this on a weekly basis. some of my dumps must be a pound or two.

you ever weigh yourself before bed then again when you wakeup? how the fuck do you loose three pounds sleeping???? is it water weight? did I sweat it out all night?

I read that when you lose weight you exhale it. So maybe you snore out fat in your sleep?

To the topic, I have not weighed myself before and after a poo. I don't have a scale anyway.

I meant to ask if you guys think having a scale helps keep you healthy?
I usually just keep an eye on my belt notches.

It's how you feel. We have scales but more out of data collection rather than keeping healthy. It can confirm you're belt notches.

it keeps me from constantly eating. I have a somewhat large frame and my weight(fat) gets spread out. So I can gain 20lbs and it's not really visually obvious and my clothes will still fit.

It gives me a number to look at so I can be all like... jesus christ I need to stop eating so much!

I always weigh myself when I see a scale, which is not often, but I never really thought about owning one. Last year when I joined a gym, I weighed myself and was like "whoa! Uh oh!", then lost 20 lbs really fast from avoiding sugar and running. It was kinda weird how fast it happened, I had to buy smaller clothes even. But then I cancelled it because I'm a cheap ass and got tired of spending $$$, and it got warmer so I was riding about 50 miles a week on the bike and just kept the weight off. Plus I stand all day and make things, so I move around a lot. Been eating too many "treats" lately though.

I have a large muscular frame, so I think in the past the scale was just disheartening because I weigh so much. But maybe now that I'm old I can handle it. I gotta find a 20% off coupon for Bed Bath and Beyond....

I've been thinking about joining a gym for a long time but there's not a single one that doesn't have a yearly contract around here. all I want to do is keep in shape the three months that I don't bike during the winter. they all make you sign up for at least a year and all the reviews of all the places around here seem to say that they all give you the run around when you try to quit your membership.

the past three months I've been looking for a spin class somewhere but it seems like the classes around here are geared towards unmotivated women that need constant hugs and kisses and overly positive reinforcement to not feel shitty about themselves. i'd rather have some asshole calling me a bitch the whole time. All the sessions only seem to be 45 minutes long too. the fuck? I go for like fucking none stop, full tilt, three hour, 30 mile rides in the trails. what the fuck is fucking 45 minutes gonna do for me?

The gym I joined had month to month memberships, I did a 4 months for the cost of three type deal. Too bad you can't find that kinda thing.

I liked going, but I just don't think I'm a gym person. I don't like the extra laundry and the way you have to think about yourself so much. I wish there was a place that did spin classes in the dark with loud music like I saw once on tv. That seems fun. Maybe there's a boot camp style spin class that is more tough? I don't know if I'd want to be yelled at though.

Going to the gym to go run on a treadmill sounds insanely boring to me. I don't know how people can do that every day. You shouldn't have to be thinking about yourself if you just actually enjoyed doing it. there needs to be like kickball or ultimate Frisbee leagues or something. active shit that's fun to do rather than the mindless gym shit. I push myself really hard biking and I thoroughly enjoy it ripping through the trails. I don't do it for any of the health benefits I just love fucking doing it. the health benefits are just a side bonus. But if I did that shit just on a stationary bike I would dread it just because it's so boring. I think I'd like the spin class though because I would feel very competitive with the other people around and it would push me.

I would really love to play floor hockey, but it's not really available near me, as far as I know. Lately playing music is kind of exercise for me because I'm using multiple keyboards and a foot pedal. My arms and hands are definitely stronger than before.

I thought lifting weights was the most boring part of the gym. I didn't mind running on the treadmill too much, but they were situated in the window where I could look down on the city street and watch people or sometimes there'd be a dog in the window across the way, ha. But I'd probably feel differently if I was staring at a wall.

I'd be super competitive in a spin class! But it also seems like I would feel stifled...ultimately I like biking outside...I don't go too hard or anything, but I do like being fit enough to go long distances and/or haul groceries without getting worn out. And racing through the city at night when not too many people are out is really fun. It feels great to basically go anywhere I want without worrying about public transport or driving and parking. My best friend moved about 10 miles away and I'll ride out to her place sometimes. I think it just feels cool to travel using your own power.
