View Full Version : just thinking of HSC Part 2

seems MCA dropped a clue that HSC part 1 had the same track list in the same order as HSC Part 2. Maybe I was drinking, but I remember MCA saying something like that.

Anyway, I have come to the hypothesis that Part 1 was set to be released and then .... part 1 got an upgrade with more time and more attention and thus became the new improved part 2.

I have no real basis for my claim other than my personal thoughts. But Part 2 is such audio delight and every sound comes out of my speakers so great. I just continue to love it more and have still not tired of it. Even PB and CYH have seen limited play since the release of HSC II in my same 6 disc changer in my old car. I assume they had to go back and give it more attention to mix this shit so good.

Anyway, I am concluding we'll never see a part one and that if you gave up on part 2, listen again.

Yeah that made me laugh. I thought is was a nice little joke considering the circumstances, them postponing part 1 and releasing part 2 instead as consolation that was just part 1 anyway. That's how I took it, I don't know.

I'm thinking about them again. I really miss them, could really do with them now, their relentless humour and humility to the end was a small disarming joy when things seem shitty.

I think often if Yauch didn't pass what this album would of become. It's such a great through and through and I think of which other singles there would of been, the videos, the b-sides and the tour. It would of been awesome.

^Yes. Hard to believe it's going to be 4 years. I miss Yauch!!!

im still convinced there's another album's worth of HSC material. I can't remember the details that corroborated this belief, but they were fully persuasive.

There's definitely the one track confirmed to open with a snippet of Bob Dylan introducing a bboys song on his radio show. And another one with Mike's "fart spray cologne" rhyme.

I don't know if this has been posted, but in this interview Adrock says there is unreleased material from the last BB's years that may get released at some time.

Jungle brothers second album came out in 1989 which I own and still enjoy to this day.
At the time only the Jungle bros and Young MC were giving the Beastie Boys any props.
It was a dark time for the beasties and it seemed like everyone was dissing them, by 92 the beasties were back on top and liked by everyone.
It always annoyed me how fickle people were but theres a shout out to the Beastie Boys on the Jungle Bros forces by nature album sleeve which Ive always thought was cool of them to do.

the midnight marauders cover (http://s3.amazonaws.com/rapgenius/1364738678_tribecalledquest-midnightmarauders.jpg) sealed the deal for me. when they were included among all the players of old school hip hop royalty, i thought it was sort of a stamp of approval(y)

And some say there is no mysterious "stuff from the vault".

Fingers crossed for Mike and Adam to drop out on any SOB things they are up to now (restaurant, seriously?) and get back to what they were born for.

Jungle Brothers... besides the first two albums you need to check their 'Crazy Wisdom Masters' stuff IMO.

What are SOB things and what do you mean by "restaurant"?

And you want them to stop what they are doing on your behalf?
