Remember when HSCP2 was being promoted, and Too Many Rappers was available through Youtube (and other mediums I'm sure)? MCA's opening lines were:

"I been in the game since before you were born;
I might still be MCin' even after your gone;
Strange thought I know, but the skills still grown;
The 80's, the 90's, 2000's and so;
On and on until the crack of dawn;
Until the year 3000 and beyond;
Stay up all night, and I MC;
And never die, cuz death is the cousin of sleep."

Then when the album dropped that verse was gone and the new verse was in its place. Did this verse ever make it out onto a single or promo release or anything? Anything anyone could buy (7", maxi single, etc)?

Also, any info as to why it was changed?

Yes, the 12" single has the original lyrics (slightly different mix too). If you do a search you should find more threads on this. Consensus seems to be the lyrics changed because of Yauch's illness.

Here's a little something for Ya had alternate lyrics when it was released on the video game. I don't think it was over released officially, but somebody at the time ripped it from the game.

That's cool, I didn't know that.
I'm guessing it's an NBA 2K game

Here is a different version I had with less scratching, so you can hear more of the lyrics:

And the original cover that I used for the pic...I loved that pic so much when it was announced....I wish they would come out with a vinyl with that cover.

Both of those are different DJ Shadow remixes for DJ Hero. Wet and Dry remixes. There is a OG version pre Zadar kicking around. Someone has it. I looked for it and I can't seem to track it down.

I would love to hear that!

I love the part one cover and the original mixes of too many rappers and here's a little something for ya, they seem more of the Beastie Boys sound.
Some Hsc part two always sounded like a remix album to me and not the beasties real work.
I know they never will but I wish the beasties would re-issue hot sauce comittee with the part 2 album, the original mix of part one album and a third disc with bonus cuts.

If anyone has the OG version of Here's a Something For Ya I'd appreciate the upload.

I have some rare gems I could start dropping periodically.

FYI, the "Here's a Little Something For Ya" and "Lee Majors" remixes were both on the limited Record Store Day 12" release.

The first youtube video posted by MXY is the 12" version.

Here's the link for that release.

Yes, that's the DJ Shadow "Wet" or "Dry" (I get them mixed up) remix mashed up with his The Number Song (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eXTqD7VRzas). That was for the DJ Hero release and RSD. I have a couple copies on vinyl.

I'm referring to the the pre-Zadar version that was floating around for a minute. It exists. Unfortunately I think I have it on a broken hard drive. And I believe that hard drive is now longer with us. RIP hard drive.

I checked my files but I don't have it. There was a clip on youtube that's it. FYI, you can usually take your hard drive to a place and they can recover unless its physically damaged, then you're talking a lot of money to recover the files.

Yeah, it was a destroyed and I tossed it. In hind sight I should of kept it. Every time I move I purge shit that I don't use or need anymore.

At least I still have the memory of it.

Some fellow collector will find this thread 5 years from now and send us the song. I promise to share. :)

Correction, I don't have the OG of HALSFY. I had it confused with Pop Your Balloon which was on the NBA 2k10. I have the rest of the ones mentioned here though. I don't remember hearing a Zdar version, but I'd like to.

The OG version of TMR was available on iTunes and vinyl at one point.

The DJ Sadow mix of HALSFY & PYB was available on vinyl at one point. I think during a record store day release.

Basically all of the stuff that was released before the Zdar treatment was

Here (http://beastiemania.com/discog/show.php?r=leemajors7uspromo,toomany12us,halsfy12u srecstoreday) In addition to that there was the Pop Your Balloon (Clean) from the NBA 2k10, the DJ Shadow remixes from DJ Hero (the "wet" is the one with all of the scratching that showed up on the HALSFY Super Surprise RSD release / the "dry" has the complete original lyrics for the song uninterrupted and was on a DJ Shadow 12" limited that came with a DJ Hero bundle sold on his site), the LMCA cut chemist remix which was the other side of the Super Surprise RSD release, and the instrumental and hook for BBITC from the mailing list. After the fact, the ones that hadn't been widely available on vinyl were compiled with remixes, pellas, live, and different audio from the DVD on these bootlegs (http://beastiemania.com/discog/show.php?r=leemajors12bootpurple,bbitc12eubootmaro on,). And the original TMR was available on a compilation, so there is actually a digital copy of that track. If anything else was out there from the original HSCP1 I missed it. This thread (http://bbs.beastieboys.com/showthread.php?t=96577) has most of what I have compiled from all the sources available. I haven't updated it for quite some time though.
