Mike D is up to something, not sure what. Do you think he is planning a solo album? What do we need to "stay tuned" for? Cool new logo.

He's on Facebook now as well. The "stay tuned" was for playing a DJ set at Milwaukee Summeriest. He also has a new watch and man-bags out.

I wouldn't expect any new music other than the occasional remix.

You are probably right. I think I would like him to release a trap mix tape though. Although when your busy with man bags, watches, DJ sets, remixes, feeding the poor, legal battles, book about Beastie Boys and wine collecting there may be too little time for much else.

Haha. You forgot house flipping, many vacations, and collecting art as well. Dude stays busy.

Also being married and wanting to spend as much time with his young kids before they grow up might have a factor. Life is too short to do things you might not be as passionate about as you were years before. He's rich and in his 50s. I'm sure he'll always stay active in the music/art scene for years to come. Although, I think a rap record from him or Adrock are probably not in the cards. Even Adrock has slowed down on his remixes and production for other artists. I don't know if it stems from the years since Yauch's passing or the fact that they're both not inspired at the moment.

It could change though.

Interesting. You are quite right. I have been listening to the new The Julie Ruin LP Hit Reset and I think I hear some sounds from Ad-Rock. I wonder if anyone has seen the liner notes, did he contribute some sounds?

It's on my list to check out. Currently I've been listening to the new Avalanches record and the new DJ Shadow. I've heard good things though! I'm sure Adrock contributed in some factor one way or another.

I definitely need to check out the new Avalanches record and the new DJ Shadow. Thanks for reminding me about those releases.
