I finally ordered and and played the Ill Communication remaster (vinyl) that came out back in '09 and was listening to it. I own some other printing of Ill Communication on vinyl from quite a while ago, and that version contains an extra snippet between Tought Guy and B-Boys Makin with the Freak Freak. it's an answering machine message for Mike recorded in French and English.
On the remaster it isn't there, and I've never heard it on any Ill Communication tapes or CDs either. Does anyone know when this was added, or why it was added?

That snippet was not on the U.S. pressings of the album. The remaster is of the U.S. pressing, so that's why it's not there. I know the snippet was at least on the U.K. pressing if not other foreign pressings. My recollection was that it got cut from the U.S. pressing for some reason or another.
There are also differences between the U.S. and foreign presses for Hello Nasty.

Oh dip. I must have a non-US version then. I didn't even realize it. I bought it from Borders.com or something back in the day.

My regular Ill communication CD has that snipet, but I'm from Europe. I think also we have a different version of Grasshopper Unit/Cant wont dont stop. In our version it doenst have choruses, just dj cuts.

6.01 - What is that French-speaking woman actually saying on Ill Communication and why doesn't my version have it?
"Allo allo, c'est un message pour Adam bon Adam, tu n'es pas la mais qu'est-ce tu fabriques? C'est Stephanie Violaine."
Translation: "Hello hello, this is a message for Adam OK Adam, you're not there but what are you doing/making? It's Stephanie Violaine.....I hope you learn how to speak french, 'cos I was saying crazy bullshit about you...one second ago." (provided by Jason Nicol, me91jpn[at]brunel.ac[dot]uk)
Only the Grand Royal and non-U.S. releases of Ill Communication contain this. The U.S. domestic Capitol releases do not. This is due to the fact that the owner of the voice did not appreciate hearing herself on the record without her permission.

Ah nice, thanks. Since I live in the US and ordered this from some American website, I probably got a Grand Royal release now that I think about it.
