It looks like the pre sale links are for the two NYC shows, and available tomorrow.

When you click the other ones it asks for an access code but doesn’t mention Friday pre sale.

Yeah the SF show also has a pre-sale for tomorrow but I don’t know where you’d get a code.

I pre-ordered the book, but I’m okay with having two copies. I’ve been fearing my two year old will destroy it so having a back up is a nice thought.

I did that. Used incognito window, the whole bit. The only presale codes were Spotify and BB. I don't know if they just had a limited quantity for each and they sold out. I'll check Friday when the general sale starts.

Yeah, looks like Brooklyn still has some, but the Town Hall show looks like they sold out of pre-sale tickets. I was able to visually see 3 seats left on the chart, but as soon as I tried buying them, it said somebody else had bought it.

I'd say that's right. Ticketmaster was locking me out at first too, saying there weren't any tickets. I tried another browser and then I was able to get in, but kept losing tickets. Eventually I was able to get 2 tickets. The system is really finicky. I'm sure you'll be able to get tickets today or Friday, when they go on general sale. I don't have another code, but if I hear of anything I'll let you know. Good luck!

Thanks for trying to spread the good word Remy. Couldn't get a London presale ticket but at least one of those codes was actually valid. These things are difficult to organise and I'm certainly not complaining, but it's a shame they (not sure who they refers to exactly...) couldn't reach out to some of the folk on here somehow. I just feel in an ideal world every hardcore Beasties nut on here would have had a presale code sent via email or something.

In any case, a very cool strand to the promo and I'm looking forward to more interviews (and obviously gearing up for the general sale!)

Probably won't be going but man, this brings back old times! Getting tickets has always been luck of the draw. The first time I went to see the Beasties we had a two-prong attack. Prong one, drive to the show venue (a college arena) and stand in line with the students to get General Admin tickets set aside specifically for in-person ticket sales. Prong two, get my friend who ran a telemarketing outfit to have all of his employees call ticketmaster.

Prong one failed, prong two worked.

Much as I'd like to shake hands etc I am a firm believer in never meeting your heroes. Did it with De La once and Maseo was such a dick to me I pretty much stopped listening to them and they were one of my all time favourite groups...

I actually got to go last night! I got everything setup a while ago but I thought for sure that something was going to come to that would prevent me from going.

The exhibit was really cool. There were glass cases filled with pictures, lyric sheets, tour items and all kinds of random promo items. There was also a room setup to show off the new Sonos speaker playing the tracks that were sampled on PB.

I wasn't really sure what to expect from the show, but it was somehow very true to Beastie spirit while being something wholly new unto itself. They told stories from the book, often reading straight from the book (well, a teleprompter displaying the book text). You could see that this was well rehearsed (which was funny because Adam kept saying "seriously we rehearsed this" whenever things seemed to go off script). Mike seemed to take more liberties and try to keep it a bit looser which seemed to frustrate Adam a bit haha.

As expected the stories were great and got tremendous reactions from the audience. Some of them were familiar (the Bob Dylan pro-smoking concert story) but there was a good amount of fresh material as well. My favorite story was actually the one Adam opened with. I won't spoil it, but I'll just say it is the story about a ring someone gave him. Again it was all in good fun and the whole night felt like a celebration of the band, especially Yauch. There were a few bittersweet moments (the story of the last concert).

They didn't do a q&a and there weren't any special guests, which was fine but kind of a bummer just because the show description said there would be. They mentioned several times that they were running long so hopefully they weren't just cut for time.

Overall it was wonderful seeing them doing their thing! They got a standing ovation at the end which they seemed genuinely surprised by and appreciative of. I really hope that it encouraged then to keep working together in some capacity. Obviously I'm not expecting make any more Beastie Boys albums but they're too good together to hang it up.

Just coming home from Brooklyn show.

I give it a nice B-, C+, I wasn’t disappointed, I actually enjoyed it but there’s only so much a book talk can give you.

I believe they had to skip many parts cuz they got backed up. I would’ve enjoyed more hello nasty era talk. They Had many fuck ups but their on the spot reactions to mistakes made it fun.

What I enjoyed most about it were the never before seen photos. there were a good deal of them.

It wasn’t as advertised though. Perhaps the future shows will be? No special guest or moderators , no Q and A,

I went to the Brooklyn show last night and it was an incredible experience. But through all the laughter, and there was a LOT of that, I had a lump in my throat the entire night.

As I walked up Flatbush Ave in Brooklyn, I realized this was THE best place to see them, as the I passed "Bimbo Nails" and a few hole in the wall chicken joints and a couple of storefront churches, the neighborhood reminded me of what so much of New York used to be like. To me it not have been a more fitting place for this. And like a beacon and portal into another world, I could see the grand marquis from a distance as I approached:

Right then it I realized I didn't think I'd ever see such a sight again. It made me giddy to relive the experience of walking into a BBoys show once again, a feeling I put away since I guess the day Yauch died. And as I approached it hit me that when I was a kid I never in my wildest dreams thought they'd become the institution they became, that we'd be looking at their lives in this museum-like way. The glass cases containing these incredible pieces of history and all the stoners, NY hip hop kids, school cafeteria punk table gangs now all grown, looking with reverence upon these relics of our past - did any of us imagine this day would come?

And as I waited for my guest to get inside, I just stood there taking it all in. Not the memorabilia displays, or the looooong awaited book that had just been handed to me, not even the beautifully ornate venue - it's gorgeous on the inside - but the PEOPLE rolling in.. all with smiles and joyful looks on their faces. So many familiar faces, I even met a few people I've known over the years, but just generally I recognized SO many people from the countless Beastie Boys shows and events through the years. These were the now grown up kids we were around all those times. I occurred to me that this might be he last time I ever see these people who all share the love for all that is Beastie Boys all in one place. I have never before wanted to just walk up to random 'stranger' and hug them like I did last night. We all grew up. We all made it through. It was bittersweet.

Of course, there was the occasional whaft of pot here and there and most everyone was dressed like they probably did back in the day but I overheard so many bits and pieces of stereotypically adult conversations like, "gotta get home to the babysitter" or "not tonight, I gotta get into the office early".. that it made both sad and happy. Sad because this is what I never wanted to become but happy that through life and the Beastie Boys I learned to embrace growth. Thank you, guys for leading the way. Thank you.

A little FUCK YOU to the chick who yelled out "CREEP!" (more than once!) as Adam told the story and sincerely apologized for the way they let go of Kate. That was so cowardly, childish and unnecessary. He smoothed right past it just fine but I really wish she hadn't done that.

The show was in-fucking-credible, filled to the brim with stories, jokes and anecdotes in a way that felt like that dream we all have of hanging out with them in what felt like a very casual way. I hope that it's being filmed for those who don't get a chance to see it like because it's a really special, one of a kind experience. I'm so glad I went and so grateful for the opportunity to see it in the company of this group of fellow bboys and bgirls

It was bitter sweet though, as you said, as I knew that this was it. Perhaps I'll still hold out hope for an album of lost archives.

I almost cried when Adam read about the last show.

I haven't gotten this far in the book yet but this might be the part of the book I'd like to check out the most. I didn't even learn about the early days of the band until 1992 or so, but for the last 25 years I've read/heard many interviews and I've never seen a real thorough explanation of what went down there. Certainly never an apology, that always seems like it was well needed. I'm pretty happy to see them going there and can't wait to read this part.

If you want a high five from Mike, sit at the end of the rows near the aisle/walkway in the right side of the audience. If you’re in the middle section, Mike will come down the row to your right, those seated on the right will see him come down to your left during the “talk show” segment.

What I’m saying is that Stage Right and Stage Left are complicated theater terms, and this feels kind of like a play, so be prepared for costume and set changes as well as ambience/mood/lighting.

I don’t want to spoil, but the three ending segments were deeply emotional so I hope to come back to discuss with those who are lucky enough to catch this.

It needs to be seen more than five times in the world. It’s so cathartic and healing.

I was insanely lucky enough to go to both LA shows (shout out to YoungRemy on this board for letting me know 3MTA was selling his tickets here).

What an amazing show.

It was truly a tribute to New York and how they grew up. How they were just young kids obsessed with music, going out every night to shows and playing music all the time. They made sure to give owe to their biggest influences. There was this amazing video I'd never seen before, of Adrock sneaking onto a TV show that Afrika Bambaatta was on and asking him if he'd heard of a song called Cookie Puss. Hahaha.

The guys were super goofy the whole time. There was some "skits" and costumes. At the very beginning Mike just straight up leaves the stage and says he has something else to do haha. They would make fun of each other and go on tangents. They also have some inside joke whenever things would falter. One would look at the other and say "You know, you should get a dog." Obviously some kinda joke they've had for a long time.

They spent a lot of time on the early years .They acknowledged that when they became the beer-spewing, moshing, nasty Beasties that they kinda pushed Kate out of the group, and eventually realized they'd become toxic assholes.

They talked about the move to Los Angeles and made fun of AdRock's acting career by showing a clip from Lost Angels. Where the car goes into the pool and Adam makes a sexual kind of noise. They replayed this noise over and over haha. They talked about the crazy 70s house they rented and the clothing they found inside. The amazing Bob Dylan story as voiced by Tim Meadows.


It was all wrapped up with some beautiful tributes to Yauch. I'm sure this is all stuff covered in the book but man. It was pretty cool to see it in person.

great show. line to see the exhibit was a snail, and moving like a snail but it was awesome to see. merch is nice, show was nice, went by much too quick and it was over 2 hrs. i started taking pics but was so enamored I realized after that my phone was pretty much in my lap the whole time. I don't think I was alone either. so much love in the room. it was us....all still dressed the same, all smiling, all telling stories and sharing nods and complimenting each other's fandom, and all just a little bit older but I could pick out each and all Beastie fans as we were enjoying a few spots around the venue before it began. i miss that part so much...

thank you everyone and God damn thank you to the band. pretty sure they needed this for at least some closure, I know I did.

Such a great weekend! Yesterday the book show in London, and today the book signing event. Although the signing went very rapidly i got a chance to shake hands, say a couple of things to them and got 2 books signed.
Met some people from the board as well as other fans. Unforgettable!

I saw them last night at earth Hackney.l was only about 5 metres away the whole show, l got lucky with the picking of a seat, It was crazy being so close.
Even though l had read the book before going to the show, l had a smile on face the whole time and it was really touching at the end when adam could'nt finish reading the words about their last concert show at bonnaroo 2009 and this irish woman from the crowd had do it for him.
Mix master mike was amazing and l told him so instagram (which he liked).
I tried and failed to get a ticket for the book signing today which will haunt me!
The rare photos shown on the large screens from the Pauls Boutique era are something somehow l need to obtain

Friday was an unforgettable moment. We sat down next to the sound desk which was as close as we wanted to be. Such a privilege to be there for the last show as it felt as they were drawing a line under it all. The Don Cornelius/Soul Train part was so funny, which I told Mike on Saturday. Bumped into Don Letts and Simon Pegg at Fridays show too.

The signing was another great moment but very over organised and at times heavy handed. Was a waste dragging that Spike Jonze deck around for two days just on the off chance but hey ho. The guy at Waterstones in charge looked like ex-military so there was no point trying to take the piss.

Had a brief chat with Adam who was super friendly and welcoming. Mike was a little stony faced throughout but still got some smiles from him about the Soul Train part. Joked about the weather and that was it ushered off to the side very quickly.

What a weekend though. Now onto Cypress at Brixton on Wednesday for more Mix Master Mike

They said on the Jimmy Kimmel interview that they were in talks about doing more of l think they said the book tour in 2019, which is good news for those that did'nt go to the shows, but l would of thought most of the people would of read the book by then and after seeing the show in london basically they spend 2 hours reading bits from the book.
