Would have to be Feb 1993 or otherwise way closer to CYH release date if $mark is there and they’re doing SWW right?

edit: because the flyer says February 13 right?

Went to look it up and found a whole bunch of other stuff about it that links to together and is interesting.

According the Beastiemania It was 1992: http://www.beastiemania.com/gigog/show.php?g=19920213

Check out the setlist

01. To All the Girls
02. Shake Your Rump
03. Time To Get Ill
04. So What'cha Want
05. Posse in Effect
06. Hold It Now, Hit It!
07. Car Thief
08. Pass the Mic
09. Looking Down the Barrel of a Gun
10. Rhymin' and Stealin'
11. The New Style
12. Professor Booty
13. Paul Revere
14. Shadrach

And also according to Beastiemania, that was the first know live performances of What'cha Want, Pass The Mic and Professor Booty.

Pass The Mic didn't drop until early April that year
and Check Your Head in late April.

That must have been crazy for the fans.

And makes the sound check of them rehearsing Whatcha Want really special too.

Here is part of the show with a Clip of Pass The Mic https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KNPVanLLZUQ

Ben (Porky's 1982) recount

"I Remember Back In 1992 : Being Outside In The Front Of The I-Beam Club ,
During The Day , While The Beastie Boys Were Doing Their Soundcheck.
We Started Talking To The Guy That Was Guarding The front Door Of
The Club. I Remember Him Telling Us That The Club Bought 2 Cases Of
Beer That Day For The Beastie Boys To Spray On The Crowd During The
Show. At That Point In 1992 , Before Check Your Head Came Out - Nobody
Had Any Idea That The Beastie Boys Didn't Do That Anymore. They Had
Been Out of The Spotlight For So Long , And Everybody At That Point Only
Knew Them For Licensed To Ill. If You Look At The Ibeam Footage
From " Meeting The Beastie Boys " , You Can See All Of The Beer Cans
On The Stage - But I Remember That The Beastie Boys Only Went For
the Bottles of Water That night."

*Edit And this was the clip of them shopping that Groove Merchant which would might have been where they were coming from in the sound check video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jp9xhPGId4o

It goes even deeper. I could be mistaken but it seems like the BullDog Breaks record https://www.discogs.com/DP-Bulldog-Breaks-Volume-Two/release/55657?ev=rr Cain is listening to around the 2:10 min mark samples A Chance for Peace by Lionel Liston Smith's Album Expansions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0td3SZ5o74

Which Mike D name checks in the Professor Booty:

"This one goes out to my man, the Groove Merchant
Coming through with beats for which I've been searching
Like two sealed copies of expansions"

Which I am sure is a nice coincidence but interesting none the less.

i was lucky enough to be a this show. i remember i was pissed at my friends cause i wanted to get there early and they were dicking around playing basketball at the meetup house before leaving, stressing me out. also remember having my ticket yanked from my hand by security or whatever for acting like an ass in line. thankfully i was checked, apologized and got it back.

also, if i got my beastie concerts setlists correct, this was the only time i ever seen car thief live, which happens to be one of my top songs and the one deep cut i always wanted them to play. i want to say they asked the crowd one other time, maybe lollapalooza '94 but that seems like an odd venue to ask the crowd if they wanted to hear CT but that's my recollection. i'm prob wrong about '94 but i'm pretty sure i'm correct about only hearing/seeing them do CT this one time in my beastie concert experiences.

this was a great show though.
