listening to jim's new pod right now, Live Log Pt. II.

he said at the vh1 hip hop honors 10/3/2004 hammerstein ballroom, black fever tees when they did sucka mc's (i have seen this many times), but then jim said at the end of the night they came back out and did fight the power and bring the noise covers, which actually started with a medley of black steel. does anyone have links to this? i have never heard about them doing PE covers but it sounds like something i should hear.

also, joey valence & brae / hooligang song. thoughts...? most of the time i would hate this, but i don't.

My own understanding (limited though it may be) is they came out with PE when said songs were being performed, did backing vox etc. I think there was footage of that floating around at one point.

Problem is I might be wrong, and Jim himself has been hella confused on specifics in several past instances. I guess if he was there, it happened, tho.

Was reflecting on this. It sounds canon and deserves to be unearthed, to be sure.

I could be wrong, but I vaguely remember this airing - but it involved multiple people performing together including the B-Boys in a limited but present manner at the show’s close. Their Sucka MCs and RRNN performances were sublime though.

this was it. thanks for finding and yea i watched this. jim made it sound like, or maybe i just heard what i wanted to hear, that they performed the covers by themselves playing live instruments. again prob just hearing what i wanted to hear.

hip hop honors were nice. never forget raekwon's face when they were performing
