Adam Horovitz Says the Beastie Boys Have a 'Whole Full Album' Still Unreleased, Says He Makes Solo Music 'Every Day'

Beastie Boys have been inactive since MCA (a.k.a. Adam Yauch) died in 2012, but we may not have heard the last from them. In a new interview, Ad-Rock (a.k.a. Adam Horovitz) has confirmed plans to release archival Beasties music and hinted at the solo music he works on "every day."

Appearing on the podcast Kreative Kontrol, Horovitz told host Vish Khanna that the band have "a lot of music" that has not yet seen the light of day.

When asked about the status of the long-rumoured Part One accompaniment to 2011's Hot Sauce Committee Part Two, he said, "We actually have a whole full album. I'm not even kidding." When pressed for further details, he said, "That I can't disclose, but I can tell you, with all honesty, there is a whole other album." It's not entirely clear if this unreleased album is Hot Sauce Committee Part One, or something else entirely.

Beyond that unreleased album, Horovitz said, "We have a bunch of rap songs also that never came out, but the bulk of it is stoner jams. I don't know if the world … really needs that right now — but maybe they want it? I don't know. They're going to get it, at some point, because I'm going to put it out."

Later in the episode, Khanna asked him if he still made music. Horovitz responded, "I make music on my computer every day." He went on to suggest that he might release it — but he didn't seem to have any concrete plans about how or when that might happen.

holy shit, we're going to get new beastie boys music aren't we? i never thought it would happen, but based on the interview, his words, his enthusiasm, etc.. i'm sure, without no insider info, that we're going to get new beastie boys music in the form of a proper album.
