How come we can't use the UBB code in our sigs anymore? I liked having mine in small and bold, and many other people used colours and stuff to great effect.

Please could you consider bringing it back?

Not likely. It was getting out of hand and it was hard to even FIND the messages on some posts because of people's sigs.

Just want to keep it simple.

Can we at least have a poll on it then?

I think that it's hipocrisy not to have a democracy on the Beastie Boys' website. Please.

Just hold off for now. I'm looking into options for the sigs. Maybe I can just change up the template a little so I can put some restrictions on them instead of not allowing any formatting.

Alright, thanks anyway. It just seems to me like this board is becoming gradually more generic and conformist. We shouldn't let this happen. Look into it, and try to bring back text formatting.

Thanks in advance.

sweet. i think it'd be best to have a length <line> restriction. hyper-text doesn't slow anybody's shit down, and smaller, bolder text looks sharper and more defined. i'm not sure if that's do-able, but thanks for considering it.

I believe people have the option to turn off signatures. Some sigs are crazy long but if someone doesn't like it they can just opt not to view sigs.

We know this, thanks. The thing is, some people DO like to see sig files, just not 5 paragraphs of 25 point pink text with a million weblinks in them.

I don't see why the format for the sig is that much of a big deal to "insert" or "turn on" on this board. As long as it doesn't have pictures (as we all are used too by now) Font styles/sizes/types and urls are not going to be that big of a deal. It should be allready built into the actuall code of the message board? am I wrong?

I haven't messed with this type of message board code so i can't be sure.

It's been on the previous boards.

Just wondering.

It should be, but isn't. They don't offer many options with controlling signature content.

That's odd. I guess they just have the barebones code to give you.

But we appreciate your work minton, and others on the team.

The more I look into this, the more I do't think we can allow only SOME formatting in the sig files, which is lame.

But I don't think we're going to allow formatting in sig files right now. You can personalize them, just not how they look. It just makes the board hard to read, and certain people have asked if we could do something about it. These certain people would rather spend time working on a record instead of trying to figure out what is a post and what is a signature... ;)

How about changing your design of sig section.
I do agree that some sigs are quite stressful, but it'd be alright if the section is, like width=50% and align=right. With scroller, if necessary. Nah, that'd be odd. hmm :(

Thanks for bringing back sig formatting, mysterious stranger.

This is evidence that you can make a change if you try. Hooray for the return of my small, bold, sig (and a prize for whoever can say where it's from first).

Nice try, the line is referenced in that song, but that's not where it's originally from though...

So no prize for you yet!
