Hi Everyone,
I'm a english teacher in Korea and I really want to see the Beastie Boys. The Festival happens to land on my summer holiday. I'm psyched! But I have a big problem.... I have find a place to order tickets. The website is in Japanese....which makes sense considering the concert is in Japan. I"m just a foreigner that is hoping someone can give me some words of advice.

Do you think there is some way we could go beastieboys.com for our show tickets? Hook up pay pal and be a third party.
Or; what if we make special orders for tickets, we pay first. Then you book and we get an e-confirmation. We pick them up at the location the day of the show?
Could it work?

Ok, here's the word: Unfortunately, there really isn't any way to purchase or order tickets from outside of Japan. There is a site in English where you can order Summer Sonic 04 tickets but it is only for those that live in Japan (here (http://metropolis.japantoday.com/tickets/)). It will just be the walk-up admission if you cannot get ahold of them that way.

It sucks, I know. As I said in the other thread though, I went to everyone I could to find out what can be done, and it seems there's little in the way of options here :(.

This thread hasn't been posted on for a while, but is there any update on the purchase of tickets for these festival dates for people outside of Japan.
I live in the UK, so what would be the case there?

Looks like the Beasties have the wrong dates on their website as they are playing in Osaka on the 7th and in Tokyo on the 8th.
The link for the phone number is for the Osaka show, if you follow the Tokyo link it says you can purchase tickets from abroad via Paypal or by credit card

the link is on the Beasties tour page.
Just be careful which tickets you go for, as I said they have they dates wrong, check them out on the summer sonic page on the right hand side

I've got my tickets!!
here's the link for payment
http://metropolis.japantoday.com/tickets/
they are through Metropolis the English language Japanese magazine.
I bought them via Paypal, there was a slight problem and I got an e-mail back though from them and I had to send some details through, but it's all OK (at the moment!)
I have to pick them up from their offices.
It might be easier to e-mail Metropolis - here's a link to their page, as you can see half way down is the link for buying tickets.
http://metropolis.japantoday.com/default.asp
here's the link with their email addresses etc...
http://metropolis.japantoday.com/common/crisscross/about_us.asp
Whatever you do before booking them, make sure you have the right date as the Beasties have the WRONG dates on their page!!
best of luck!!
Monk
I ordered my tickets the other day. The guy was very helpful. I've decided to go both days. I'm gonna be in Tokyo from the 5th till the 10th but I haven't found anywhere to stay. The hotels near Summer Sonic are too expensive and about 35miles from the centre of Tokyo. Monk, are you going solo like me?

Hey -- I just saw your post. I'm in Tokyo and I'm heading to Summer Sonic solo as well. I bought tickets for both days, are y'all heading to the Tokyo show? I saw the Beastie Boys at RFK stadium for the Freedom Concert a few years ago in DC and they were awesome. I'm looking forward to this show... :)

I'm on holiday there (two of us there), hopefully travelling down to Kyoto and climbing Mount Fuji and the Beasties in to boot, wow!
I'm also going to be doing some research on Adam and the Ants, who played in Japan in 1981, for a book project I've been working on for what seems like the whole of my life!
Accomodation is really expensive, but try and get yourself into some of the hostels, they're quite reasonable. I'm not sure about Chiba City where the Beasties are playing, I have no idea what I'm up to there, I'm going to a gig, that's all that's important at the moment and the Hives are playing too!!
