"why letterman? its almost as bad as Leno and his huge chin"

You are joking right? Dave Letterman is a genius, he changed everything about Late night television. Leno is joke, he should not be allowed on TV, granted he appears to be a nice guy, where as Dave can be an asshole sometimes, Leno is just plain unfunny.

This is cool news...the B-Boys on Letterman in NYC on album release day. Last time they played Letterman was the Summer of 1994. Most likely it'll just be a performance of "Ch-Check It Out" and that'll be all...but it'll still be nice to see.

Thanks Trond E!

Usually Letterman is being shown one week later here so have to wait until the 23rd. I don't think they'll be talking with David at all, just doing the stuff they do the best!

btw Beasties were on Letterman with Elvis Costello once (played Elvis' Radio Radio), but don't know the date. Anyone know?

They did play with Costello, but it was on a SNL 25th anniversary special in September 1999.

Dave Letterman is a rabid anti-republican.

He makes it a point to show a clip of George W. doing something embarassingly stupid on almost every show.

anyway i have just always seen him as a republican. so i am wrong?

Actually, the episodes for letterman air the same day they are taped. I may make an attempt to get tickets to see it in person.

I hope they play something else besides Ch-check It Out. I'm gonna be pissed if they play the "hit single". They usually just play whatever they want on TV. It was nice to see them do "Live at PJs" on Letterman back in the day.

channel 9 screen letterman late at night and for the most part they're current episodes. it's likely to be on wednesday night here due to the time difference. in sydney this week, according to my tv guide, letterman is on channel 9 at midnight on tuesday and 12:10 wednesday

Conan > Letterman > Leno

It's possible that they'll get some interview time after their performance, that happends sometimes.

I'm still in shock. One of the greatest live music performances I have ever seen on tv. And Dave loved it!

That was a great performance. I bet those people on the street are still cleaning out their draws. Am I mistaken or was that D.J. Hurricane acting as their body gaurd? (Just kidding) By the way what is D.J. Hurricane up to these days? Anybody?

I loved Letterman's spiel on the Beasties' career. Something like "The thing about the Beastie Boys is they're dangerous. And they're here, and then they're gone. And it's like Phew! (wipes brow) and then they're BACK! The Beastie Boys! And then Phew, they're gone again, and then BACK!"
Perfect.

I think I recall Letterman in the 80s when he kept delcaring that "Ladies and gentlemen, I'm fighting for your right to party"...or something like that? Fun performance. I need a fisheye lens.
