It was a real tight show. They did very little talking between songs so it flowed very fast.

Mike had some silly sunglasses and a baseball type hat. I had a general admission lawn ticket and for their first big venue, the energy level was sweet.

MMM sounded great. The sound quality at the venue was excellent.

Ok, now that I have had a chance to put my bags down and take my shoes off, I think I am ready to put my 2 cents in and give a quick review of my thoughts and experience of the performance and some extra stuff.

When Mix master mike took stage and started scratching, I knew right then and there it was going to be a night to remember. The DL from the wienni roast does not do him justice what so ever. I was on the 6th row and was able to see his motions and everything. OH MAH GAWD. He would take the album and scratch it down with his elbow and move through his arm and out to his finger tips. I almost lost my mind when he started doing this live infront of me. I have seen him do it in video clips before, but never live.

Going back to before they took the stage, way before. LIVE 105 had t-shirts made up with a list of bands that were playing BFD and Beastie Boys had been scratched out of the list, I mean literally. You could see that it was 2 words and the first word started with a B. Well to get to the point, the gentleman sitting behind me was suppose to be the guy who had drawn the comic book 'style' program handed out at the entrance. I asked him about the reasoning behind the scratched out beastie boys on the shirt. HERE IS THE GOOD NEWS. He said it was because the Beastie's didn't agree with some of the sponsers of the festival. I was over whelmed with joy when I heard this.

Now on to the concert. The Boys put on a fantastic show and really should have been the headliner. I wish they could have played alot longer set but I guess I will just have to wait till they tour.

They were wearing the exact same thing they wore in the wienni roast video, do you think they even took a bath before they went to the wienni roast??? LOL

Keep yall's eyes open because I will be posting pictures sometimes in the near future. I have to work on the ones I have because the place that developed em sucks. I am going to digitaly enhance the grain of the pics.

I thought the show was pretty hot. I was super miffed when I got their
and saw the stokes were headlining. i mean. the strokes are the hot thing
now but not bigger then the boys. Oh well. Then I saw they only had
35 mins and was miffed..

But then the busted on the stage and it was SO SO on I thought. I
was a little scared because last years coachalla performance was
probabaly the worst of (now 9) times that I saw them. But this
show made me just look SO forward to their tour because it going to
be on fire.

Minus not having intergalactic in their encore they played about as
much as they had for other shows. With no talking between song this
was strictly business and it flowed so nicely.

A few notes about the show:

Highlights:

MMM intro was hot. He used some of the same break record that he
used at coachella and opens up his solo shows with (with tribe/jam
master jay tribute break) but before that started with his 'lets get
ready to rumble' break record. SICK

Them playing New Style was nice. With mostly the orig lyrics from
what I remembered.

3Mc's was HOT. IF you look at old clips from HN and now you can
see how much faster that song has gotten. Its sick because they
basically the boys are at the speed of MMM. it was sick. MMM also
changed the drum pattern a tad on the third verse. He always
does this routine solo. SICK. His scratches in CCIO were hot as
well. His DJ boot is super sick as well.

Lowpoints.

No pauls stuff. Not even shake your rump. That was the only
real bummer with this set. 3 IC songs and no SYR.. that was
my only real complaint.

Overall I have to say they are BACK and in good form.

This show reminded me of lolla when they palyed before the smashing
pumpkins. The beasties pretty much blew the pumpkins off the
stage. I honestly felt the same here. plus it seem like a 3 of people
left after the beasties..

I now have to start saving vacation for the next tour...

Awesome story here:

OK so my frind and I were on the lawn, right toward the front where the rail separates from the reserved seats. We were pumped for the Beasties, and when MMM came out everyone went nuts. Then these loud college age girls came over and started screaming and everyone around couldnt hear as well. Then the Beasties came out and it was awesome, but these girls would not shut up. One of them was screaming "that's my brother" about Mix Master Mike." Everyone was basically "yeah right, shut up." Why would MMM not hook up his sis with some reserved seats? Finally, some other girl slapped them or something, and a fatty chick brawl began on the lawn. Not like a little cat fight, but like major hair pulling on the ground etc. My friend and I were torn over what to watch--the Beasties or the fatty chick fight. Finally the fight was broken up, and we were able to enjoy the show. The girls who first came over left or something, I wasn't really paying attention.

Then, at the end of the set, MMM gives a shoutout to his sister in the crowd, leaving our little section of the lawn speechless.

I was there and it was a short set, but well worth it.
