I doubt Pitchforkmedia.com will be able to compete with Todd Gilchrist this time around because they (i.e., Pitchfork) appears to have dropped off when it comes to the research-end of writing. Albeit Pitchfork does review the best new releases (they are making good decisions as to what releases need assessment) but the writers appear over-worked because the reviews are lacking serious effort.
