I have been posting for years, many more than 106, but had to re-enlist due to computer changes. But anyway my wife will be my guest.

I was just poking fun. I am just so incredibly dissappointed I haven't had a chance with winning tickets. I was caller 8 the other night :( bah. And it sounds like you are quite the fan. Have fun.

I got two from the sale. I know I am low on the number of posts, but I have been a fan for a long time. I remember going to buy Paul's Boutique on cassette. But hopefully long-time fans (and new fans who have been cool on their postings) will get their tix.

Equating number of posts here with being a "real fan" is just lamer talk, IMHO. A fan knows if they're a fan. A fan recalls seeing the Boys on Letterman back when he was on NBC and wore a blazer and sneakers instead of a suit, and when Paul had more hair. If you're a longtime fan, you're a longtime fan, who cares what other people babble about the subject. Don't get me started on number of posts you kids have to alt.music.beastie-boys or anything. These new fangled Web forums. Bah. :)

I'm with you DCBBfan.

I'm busy running a business (web related). Now I've been a BB fan since by roommate turned me on in 1990. I've been building web applications since 1991 (remember Mosaic? remember NANDONET - the original Beastie Boys forum?).

Just cause I don't have time to post and socialize on forums does not mean I'm not a huge fan. For example, at any given time, the 6-cd changer in my car has an average of 3 BB albums.

I use bullitin boards and newsgroups when I need to a) find informations, and b) share information.

Hola old timer :)

Remember Mosaic? Of course. NCSA Mosaic, the weird new application that turned my text Internet account into a graphical paradise, and fit on a 3.5" floppy to boot. Sheez I had almost forgotten that. In the early days, there was no such thing as a PPP account (much less broadband in your house) and when there was it was $5 a month extra over a shell account. So you used software to kludge up a SLIP account over a shell account to get Mosaic running. LOL.

I guess that's the modern equiv of walking to school uphill through snow. Many people don't understand the roots of the Internet, much less computers and BBSes, and get a bit mouthy. The trade off (too late for me to enjoy) is that these days the person claiming to be a hot chick-a-doo on the other end actualy *is* versus back in the 80s when it was just a weird guy with no shirt on and a NAMBLA fetish.

Anyway. Yeah. Beastie Boys. I never jumped on here until trolling for 9:30 Club info. But I can't see what that has to do with how big a "fan" I am, or even what my opinion is of them being a bit too political now and not enough spinning.

I hit the HFStival for the first time in years this year, wife had a prior engagement for the first half. Spent the time just jamming in the car with, of all thing, a bunch of BB discs I had not spun in ages.

Things work out.
