the beasties are on the cover of Spin magazine........i bought it this morning when i bought the cd.......it seems that if it wasn't for 911 or Bush in office the beasties wouldn't have a reason to make a new cd........and that kinda sux!!!

i think the beasties need to accept and embrace the fact that they're the longest running hip-hop act in the history of rap, they are talented and are more known for their music then ideas and beliefs.......and this is something to be proud of and not ashamed of!!!

Right on brudda! I can see from you're point of view, you're a fuckin massive fan of the music first and foremost and only. And it must be frustrating every time you hear yauch gear up for a lecture. IMO they've got the mix just right on tt5b (maybe a little too much politiks if anything).

They have never been ones for self-congratulations though. And at this stage, we are never gonna see the BBoys as a non-political band. Their music and politics go hand in hand now. Some love it, some hate it, i don't mind. Ah well.

I was shocked with how LITTLE politics there is on the album compared to what was being said before release.

I just read the SPIN article. It was more about how they are the absolute definition of "cool" more than their politics. But still, there was a lot of political shit in there. Regardless, a really great read. And the pics were fuckin ill.

somebody needs to put a muzzle on adrock....talking about he couldn't get coffee on 9-11.......nobody gives a shit with thousands being murdered if you can't get coffee....he needs to go back to the check your head days where he didn't talk politics and leave politics to yauch and d.....adrock is the weak link in the beasties when it comes to them being taken seriously on issues...

I agree. I figured (and hoped) the new album would be more political.

hell yeah. couldn't agree more. so did nobody else get the impression that the guy writing the article was actually mocking the b boys? am i just overly sensitive or paranoid? i didn't like the guy's tone (if you can say that about a magazine article), it sounded to me like he was questioning how "cool" they are now because they're not spouting out idiot-friendly mind-numbing pop songs like apparently a lot of people were hoping. i can't believe people have a problem with the fact that these guys are grown adults trying to speak their concerns about their country. last i checked, speech was still free around here. i just want to know if i'm the only one that picked up on this guy's condesending remarks.

yea, I kinda got that impression too. but then again who cares what that guy says.

Yeah, that guy Chuck Klosterman thinks he's just the funniest guy in the world. He's a sarcastic and condescending asshole in all the stuff he writes for Spin.
