They say writing is therapeutic so here goes....
I'm sure I'm not alone in being supremely bummed about missing the Beasties tonight at 9:30. I can't believe the hours of time I've lost in the past two weeks listening to HFS and dialing the contest line. I'm happy for those who are able to go, and I truly hope that they appreciate and enjoy the experience. I was fortunate to have been among the lucky to see them in NYC at the Hammerstein Ballroom in 2001 (I was there on night 2 with the surprise guests...Bono and Michael Stipe). Yeah, I know, so I should not be complaining. At least now, I can focus on enjoying the new CD and my freedom in selecting the radio station of my choice to accompany my drive to/from work. I guess I'm writing here b/c no one else can understand my state of sadness better than other true Beasties fans.... Thanks for "listening." :o

Seriously. I like DC101 because it's not constant shit being spewed from the speakers. "HEY GUYS! Here's Puddle of Mudd followed by Trapt and Disturbed and then how about some good ole Linkin Park for 40 minutes straight?"
:shudder:

I went to the mall with my boyfriend instead. He's buying me a build a bear to make up for me missing the concert. :)

That sums it up for me, minus the part about seeing them.....EVER :-(

I have a so many of their records, what ever I can find really, they got me into DJing years ago. I was a big fan of Scratch Picklz too, and when MMM joined them its was just too cool for me, like great meets greater or some ish. And listening to that radio station is a pain worse than death. Any radio station. And especially rock stations.

I think I'll never have the same opportunity to see them live in such a small club like the 9:30...breaks my heart beyond words.

I will always and forever hate HFS, I will never listen to that shit again, I will encourage everyone I know to never listen to them or to buy products that are advertised on that station. Can you say bitter as hell.

Anyone know of some live video of a show that I can get a hold of, or someone here that might have it as could ease the pain some.

Peace

well there was some press there taking live videos of the show. check out the thread about the show sucking (wich it didnt, the guy that posted it might just be a dick).

for all those who didnt go....that sux hardcore. i didnt think i was going but my best friend won at 545 wed night. i didnt believe id actually get to see them till they came on. i thought for sure someone was just gonna come out and say it was all a practical joke. ive been a beastie boy fan from the beginning and this was all so very exciting.

but anyway it was great. hopefully they will go on tour again soon so more people an enjoy it.

and really guys, i dont listen to the radio that much either. but who knows if we would of been given this opportunity at all if hfs hadnt arranged it. at least we can all go back to our regualr music enjoyment.

I'm sure it could have been done without WHFS. They did it 10 years ago without their help...too my knowledge.
