Just search for whatever ya want. And ya wanna have a look around each persons stuff double click there name and wait for it too load (y)

You need to open 3 slots so that 3 people can download from you. You do this in the options menu.

I mean the settings area. You get there by clicking on file/settings

I search and it doesnt do anything, occassionally it will find something but every time I click something it says "connecting" for like 2 minutes, then "connection timeout" EVERY TIME, and I can click on users either. I uninstalled DC++ and re installed it, still no luck ? Whats going on ?

maybe try swithing the mode if you're in passive change it to active if you're in active change it to passive, when I sometimes have problems connecting I do that and it helps

add the hub to your favorites on dc++ and there is a place somewheres in your favorites to make it connect each time you crank up DC++. You might have to right click on the hub with in favorites and go to options or something like that.

You need to write your new ip address that you have at home down and enter it on the hub option screen.

I had to do the same thing cause i went from desktop to laptop.

Are you connecting with a pc or Mac?

If you are connecting via PC. Go to settings and then click on Sharing in the left hand column. at the bottom of that area you will see "Upload slots" make sure there is a 3 in that column

Oh well, I'm going to call it a night. I'm having problems with this. It might be because I'm using a router (still wired from the router though, not wireless), but it says "Connecting..." by the user and "Connection Timeout" after about 30 seconds.

I haven't gotten to view anyone's filelist.

This was answered earlier in the thread but its clear that person just copied and pasted, because in their answer they told me to "check the user manuel to find out how." :confused:

Do you use windows xp? You need to set active mode.

Setting up active mode
For DC++ to work properly in active mode, it requires access on TCP and UDP listening ports, as well as outgoing access on all ports for both TCP and UDP.

You can simplify the process of setting up active mode if your router and operating system is UPnP compatible. If so, please read the How to set up UPnP FAQ instead, for more information.

First you need to set up the router to forward the connections to the computer with DC++. This is could be called Port mapping, port redirecting, port forwarding or something like that. Find out how to do this with your router / NAT in the user manual.
You need to forward two ports, with either the same port number or different ones. Select one or two numbers between 1024 - 65535, they should mostly all be free. Make sure both UDP and TCP is being forwarded on the port(s) you chose.
The IP that you are forwarding to should be the internal IP address of your DC++ computer. It usually begins with "192.168", "172.16." or "10.x.". Go to the command prompt and type: ipconfig (Start Menu -> Run -> cmd /k ipconfig)
When you have mapped the port(s) on the router, open up DC++ and go to Settings. Select active mode. In the port fields, enter the port number(s) that you forwarded on the router.
In the IP field, you need to enter the external IP address of your router. Your external IP can be checked against DSLReport's IP page .
It should now be working. If it is working for a while, but the next time you use DC++, you only get "Connection Timeout’s or no results when searching, your IP (either external or internal) is likely to have changed. If you find the external IP is constantly changing, you can set yourself up with a dynamic name (i.e. hub.example.com). Such as Dynip or DynDns and put that name into the IP field. Make sure to use a program that updates the dynamic name service with your latest IP.
Windows XP?
Service Pack 1: Its strongly recommended that you do not use the SP1 firewall and instead use a third party one. Make sure to disable the XP firewall if you do choose this option. If you really must use it, then checkout this guide on how to set it up.
Service Pack 2: The firewall in SP2 is a lot more robust than its original incarnation. While it does not offer a plethora of options, its suitable to use by itself for protection. Its wise to enable logging of packets that the firewall drops for troubleshooting applications. To do this, go to Control Panels -> Windows Firewall -> Advanced Tab -> Security Logging -> Settings. Enable Log Dropped Packets. The log file is located at: C:\WINDOWS\pfirewall.log.

a lot of problems with the hub are caused by firewalls and routers, It can be a little complicated but if you change your settings under File, Settings, Connection settings that will usually help. I am working on putting together a better way to help people out with this but it might not be for a few more weeks. Thank you.

Also If you keep asking in the main hub chat eventually someone will answer you it is just that alot of people keep it running in the background so be patient and hopefully we can help you out.

i'm on a mac - once you get to www.neo-modus.com, what do you click? when i clicked on "direct connect" i wind up with a link to download onshare but it says onshare's for windows only. any help much appreciated, thanks.

Hello everyone, This goes out to all windows users I would suggest you switch to Apex DC++ for your client. Its much better and actually supports spread downloading where it will download the file from more then one person at a time to make it faster kind of like Bittorrent. It should be a great improvement for the Hub. Here is the website

So even though i've been here for a while i just downloaded ApexDC++ to acess the hub. I added the server to my favorite hubs adn it says i'm connected but I don't know where to go/what to do after that. I assume I'm suppose to see user names and their files in the lower section that says "User" "hub/Sefments" "Status"... across the screen, but I don't. Does that mean no one is on it right now or it's down or what. Please help me.

You see the names of people on the righthand side you can click on the names to see what they have and once you select something to download the bottom of the screen shows the download progress.

Maybe try to reinstall your hub software. Are you on mac or pc?

i dont think you can do anything right now. HUB seems to be down since 2-3 days. Lets wait what happens next couple days.

I was on the other day for like 6 hours, connected fine, but when I tried to get another user's list (when someone finally showed up) it didn't work??

Just took forever and never showed me their share list... I had like 6gb shared but don't know if anyone could get to my stuff either...

Does someone have to be logged on to the hub for this to happen or just the internet. Are those files in limbo forever or do they just get deleted. if user x shuts his computer down for an hour and user y is still logged to the hub, will the downloads resume if user x jumps back on the internet, or does he have to log on to the hub?? HUB software needs to be started, to continue download or upload.
You can see all unfinished or running downloads under download queue. There you can also delete unfinished files.

I'm definately having issues... I finally got my files uploaded in the hub (there were like 20GB in the shared column of my user name) but after an hour or so I logged back on and they were all gone, back down to 0GB, what gives, do I have to index and upload the folders every time I log on to the hub? That would take forever. I'm about to give up, such a cool thing the hub is but I can't get it to work right :mad:

Do you get any kind of message why you get disconnected? Most of the time users dont have enough slots open. 3 is minimum.
