I posted this in the other thread but i dont think anyone read it. The hub no longer requires registration all you have to do is login with the username of your choice. I was unable to keep up with the emails and PM's. The server is jtcann.serveftp.com:1090

Also the Hub is not an FTP server and cannot be accessed by Internet Explorer or any type of FTP program. You need direct connect Hub Software. The best type for windows is DC++ I'm not sure about Mac but i know there are a few programs also. THis link has them. http://www.dslreports.com/faq/6515

If you have any questions on how to sign on or set up search the forum many people have asked the questions over and over and they have been answered step by step many times.

For those who do not know what the Hub is it is a sharing community for the beastie boys message board users. We have tons of live shows, rare tracks, remixes, videos, interviews, and anything else you can think of. You are asked to share what you have EXCEPT STUDIO ALBUMS AND B-SIDES. It is not the place to go to download a copy of To The 5 Boros.

u right click on the users name, and click Get FIle List... then u will connect... u should go to settings, and put yur settings in Passive mode, i think that will work even better...

I tried getting it to work, and I was on the Beastie hub and in the chat area at the bottom it said "/password"...I typed in something random and it said incorrect and disconnected me. I messed around with it some more, and now my IP got banned!

What am I doing wrong, and how do I fix it?

After a much needed hiatus the hub is back! A nice clean install of Windows XP and an added 200 gig hard drive was the reason for the downtime. SO enjoy. Recent additions are the VH1 Hip Hop performance, the fairfax show, and the jones beach show. enjoy.

sounds like you may have downloaded the hub server software. The one your looking for seems like a regular p2p application. make sure you download the CLIENT not the SERVER. hope this helped.

Active mode requires both TCP and UDP access on the same port incoming and all ports outgoing for DC++ to work properly.

You can simplify the process of setting up active mode if your router and operating system is UPnP compatible. Read this FAQ for more information.

First you need to set up the router to forward the connections to the computer with DC++. This is could be called Port mapping, port redirecting, port forwarding or something like that. Find out how to do this with your router/NAT in the user manual.
You need to forward one port. Select a number between 1024 - 65535, they should mostly all be free. Make sure both UDP and TCP is being forwarded on the port you chose.
The IP that you are forwarding to should be the internal IP address of your DC++ computer. It usually begins with "192.168", "172.16." or "10.x.". Go to the command prompt and type: ipconfig (Start Menu | Run | cmd /k ipconfig)
When you have mapped a port on the router, open up DC++ and go to Settings. Select active mode. In the port field, enter the port number that you are forwarding on the router.
In the IP field, you need to enter the external IP address of your router. This can easily be checked on here.
It should now be working. If it is working for a while, but the next time you use DC++, you only get "Connection Timeout’s or no results when searching, your IP (either external or internal) is likely to have changed. If you find the external IP is constantly changing, you can set yourself up with a dynamic name (i.e. myname.kicks-ass.net). Such as Dynip or DynDns and put that name into the IP field. Make sure to use a program that updates the dynamic name service with your latest IP.
For Linux based firewalls/routers, take a look at this FAQ on this subject.

Here are several how-to guides with screen shots for various models. Don't hesitate to take a look how its done even if your exact model isn't list, most likely it will provide a useful guide and help setup yours.

Service Pack 1: Its strongly recommended that you do not use the SP1 firewall and instead use a third party one. Make sure to disable the XP firewall if you do choose this option. If you really must use it, then checkout this guide on how to set it up.

Service Pack 2: The firewall in SP2 is a lot more robust than its original incarnation. While it does not offer a plethora of options, its suitable to use by itself for protection. Its wise to enable logging of packets that the firewall drops for troubleshooting applications. To do this, go to Control Panels -> Windows Firewall -> Advanced Tab -> Security Logging -> Settings. Enable Log Dropped Packets. The log file is located at C:\WINDOWS\pfirewall.log.

Click on favorite hubs, after that click on new and write beastie hub adress (dont forget your nick ). I hope it works now.

Okay.. You open the program, then press ctrl + p .

So there were it says "Configured Puplic Hub List" open http//dc.selw something..and press Configure.

Then look for the ADDRESS jtcann.serveftp.com:1090 and klik on it..



Then I dont know wath to do.. :(

click on client, then choose preferences, then network, and then write 3 in maximum simultaneous uploads

What's up people. I finally got around to downloading DC++. Everything works and I'm connected, however, when I right click to 'Get File List' from somebody, the connection ALWAYS times out no matter who I click on. Is there anything I can do to fix that?

Okay, sometimes I'll click to download something, and nothing happens. Then other times, I'll click to download something, but I get a message saying "No slots available" even though I have like 30 slots open. What should I do?

I am not sure about the nothing happening when you click on it to download. But the no slots thing isn't on your end. It means that the person you are trying to download has a full capacity of people downloading from him or her.
