Did anyone here catch the Beastie Boys show at the Hammerstein Ballroom on October 29th 2001. As usual the Beastie Boys put on an amazing performance, with mostly songs from Hello Nasty and a few songs from previous albums. Since I got there 2 hours before doors opened, and the way the venue was set up which was the upper balcony, which had seats, and the main floor, where there were no seats, so it was basically first come, first close. When the doors opened we quickly got beers and went to the stage. EVEN after getting drinks, I couldn't believe how close we were to the stage. There was the stage and about 15 feet infont was the metal gate divider. We ended up standing in the second from the fence. It was amazing. Let me tell you the whole so we were standing comfortable, with barely no contact with anyone. But as soon as the B-Boys came out, there was such a change in the crowd, there was such a power crunch that shifted to the front, which felt like packed sardines in a can, and never let up. Definitely, an awesome show. Did anyone else catch this? Let me know what you thought.
Not in actual order:

Root Down
3 Mc's and One DJ
So What'cha Want(with the background music of Missy Elliot's, "Get Your Freak on")
Intergalactic
Shake your Rump
Slow and Low
Sure Shot
Body Movin
Alive
Skills to Pay the Bills
Sneakin out the Hospital
Unite

If you saw it, let me know if I'm missing any songs.

I need to get my hands on that vcd.

On the old board I posted pix that I took that night. When I remember where I hosted them, I will repost them.

I, too, was there that night.
The Beasties were tight, yes, but I felt a different type of energy from them. Their presence on stage was not their usual. It seemed like they were disjointed. I wonder if they briefly separated to get their own heads together... It just didn't feel like it always had.
On the other hand, I just saw them at Camden and they were freakin' out of control awesome. They're back!!! And they're better than ever.

I saw Chris Rock in the Balcony at a show @ Irving Plaza.
Not that anyone cares, but this just made me remember that.

Yeah, I saw it. It was actually mine and my husband's (another huge B-Boys fan) first "date". They played last, if I remember correctly, and it was well worth the wait. Strokes and Rival Schools were great, too, but BB were the BEST. We cannot wait to find out when and where they will play this summer/fall.

I went to that show, it was good when they finally came out. They made us sit through a lot of crap!
