Hey,
This is my first shot at making a remix. Please tell me what you think and feel free to be harsh (with a reasonable backup argument :) )

Beastie Boys - Ch-Check It Out (Ay-J Remix) (http://www.perfitmusic.com/other/Beastie Boys - Ch-Check It Out (Ay-J Remix).mp3)

Thanks!

P.S. Anyone know where I can get an acapella of the explicit version?

Love the panning. I like the way your mix gives off a totally different feel to the original. Minimalistic....a good example of "Less is more". Nice one.

Thanks man! Yeah, I made the beats in the verse. That distorted beat in the chorus was provided in Fruity Loops' loop pack. I just overdrove it and added some reverb to the snare hit.

Thanks to everyone else too. I appreciate it muchly.

I searched the board for the explicit acapella to no avail. There was one that Skrilla hosted on soundclick but it's kinda sketchy quality. So, to be more specific... anyone know where I can get a good quality explicit acapella? :D

Thanks!

No, It's not that, I mean that's the best quality MP3 file I've ever seen. 320kbps and I use DSL.

Hey man, I downloaded the Fruit Loops program but I couldn't get it to do anything. Granted, I've never done anything like this before, but I would love to learn. How did you learn to do it?

By the way... loved the remix, especially the beats for the Chorus.

I figured it all out by myself. It's pretty easy once you get the hang of it. Don't worry, you'll get it. It's not super confusing like that program the Propellerheads made, or like Cubase or anything.

Thank you everyone!

Yeah, I believe it's the highest possible quality with MP3. It's like 1000 kbps or so less than CD but it's still not too bad. I was going to post an SHN and/or FLAC, but I decided against it due to fast-modem-impaired people ;)

I like the simplicity of the whole thing. Good work.
