they sold 1.000.000 copies in EU.
and that's a lot considering
it's a debut album
their label (Domino) is indipendent!!

I read they hadn't a lot of success in USA..

Probably won't believe this, but one of my friends knows the lead singer. They all met up at the Glasgow School of Art - which i can see from my school. They do kick ass live. I saw them at the gig where they were signed up by Domino. Are they really that big over there?

yeah, they're cool, but watch out for the up and coming "Mother and the Addicts". real independent (and scottish) music. ;)

They were in Brooklyn 2 weeks ago at a place called Volume. The show was superbly asskickingly phenomenal. I liked it. Their live energy is infectious.
By the way, I think that Volume (Williamsburg) would be an ideal spot for the B.Boys.

I just bought their album. I think it is pretty good. Needs a few more listens though before I fully will enjoy it.

Cant get into them personally not sure why just doesn't hit the right notes to much like brit popy indie crap that just seems dated and surplus to requirement anymore especially in the current mine field of music.

+ everytime i hear their name mentioned i think of edith bowman going "frannzzzzzz ferdinand" in her accent and its like running ur nails down a primary school chalk board at 9 in the morning whilst having ur mouth stuffed with foil and being made to chew.

but u never know they might eventually grow on me................

I was at that show. You summed it up pretty well. I couldn't get my ticket stub back either! What was that about? Great gig though. They ripped it up in Williamsburg.

nah, i think they suck too. i don't know if i would call them a boy band, but they're nothing we've never seen before. it's the same old dance beats with jagged edge guitars and kind of silly lyrics. and mcaismyhero, it's nice that you're gracious enough to step back and not make someone feel alienated because of his opinion.

whether you like them or not, you can't argue with the fact that their music is totally unoriginal.

^^^How is it unoriginal? I think its totally original. There aren't many bands out there that have the same sound as they have. They have a variety of original songs, weather it's surf/ spy guitar of "40 Ft" or the cool synth/ keyboard groove of "Shopping for Blood." And on top of that, their live shows kick ass. Every review I've seen says this is one of the best records of the year so far. So why do you hate em so much when clearly most everyone else loves 'em?
