How does one go about getting a gig like doing "Live Sound Engineering" to go on tour with the Beastie Boys? I Dj / Produce / Promote Music, but was wondering if it's only who you know and not what you know.

It's both. One thing I know is that being able to get along plays a big part in touring. Skills are important too. It's a solid mix.
