Not sure if this goes in the press section or this section, so if i've stuffed it up feel free to move me :)

Anyway i think seeing as not much info is going around about the australian tour yet, other than they are apparently headlining big day out with coldplay (wtf??). Is this rumour true, and if so, will they also do a separate nationwide tour (they could...theres gotta be enough fans) or will they pull a linkin park and run away as fast as they can as soon as they do their 3-4 shows or whatever it is.

Also, is livid still a possibility. Because livid was better than bdo last year, and if bdo got the beastie boys, its instantly skipped above livid as the best australian music festival.

Keep yourself in the loop by using the Tour section of the site. This means don't make a thread asking when Beastie Boys are coming to play [insert location here] or where are they headed next etc. It's all in the Tour section as it becomes available to us.

Well gee, thanks thats just super if i hadn't seen this everywhere!!!! I'm talking abour rumours here, i know you guys wont put anything on the site until its 100% confirmed, which is usually a long time after the fans already know. Anyway aside from that can i please have some rumours not just people treating me like a newbie, i may be but i'm smart enough to look in the tour section first!!!

Slingshot Touring presents From the Beastie Boys

MONEY MARK+ Live Band

Money Mark finally returns to Australia for the first time since 1996.Along with a performance at this year?s Splendour In The Grass, thekeyboard legend will play an exclusive side show in Melbourne.

Accompanied by his live band which includes DJ Relm, Money Markwill play his classic tracks plus new tunes from his latest upcomingalbum, ?Demo or Demolition? (Earshot/Inertia). In the early 90?s, Mark Ramos-Nishita started his music careerassisting the highly influential Dust Brothers production team. Whileworking as a handyman in Los Angeles, Mark accepted a fateful job fixing the Beastie Boys house, where they recorded ?Paul?s Boutique?.

Money Mark quickly exchanged his repair tools for an antiquekeyboard. His textured organ styles were injected into the BeastieBoys 1992 album, ?Check Your Head?. Before long he became the unofficial fourth member of the group. In 1995 Mo Wax released Money Mark?s debut solo album, ?Mark'sKeyboard Repair?.

Using vintage equipment, Mark created instrumentalmayhem with his loose and lo fi organ sounds reminiscent of 60?s souljazz.A pivotal member of the Grand Royal posse, Money Mark?s distinctive retro riffs appeared on many Beastie Boys LP?s ? ?Ill Communication?,?The In Sound From Way Out?, amongst others. His unique touches can be heard on a number of collaborations with artists such as Iggy Pop,Yoko Ono and Beck.

he was judging a competition, someone had to offer money mark something that they own, to win, and he got to choose who won.
i forget what won
but he's funny

edit: if you're a fan, you should check out the music jamboree (http://www.musicjamboree.com/) dvd's, there is an amusing segment where the host rings up money mark and asks him not to steal his girlfriend

(because once dj hurricane stole his gf)

Money Mark just don't cut it for me. I mean hes cool and all but I wanna know about the beastie boys.

Heres my rumour of the day:

Livid is cancelled because of a poor lineup. The beastie boys were supposed to headline but one of their managers pulled them out after livid couldn't offer them enough money. However the beastie boys should be coming out January for Big day out to headline with System of a down and Powderfinger.
