So I finally ripped the accapellas from my DVD, but now I've got another problem. I'm having major trouble fitting even simple drum loops under the vocals consistently throughout the song. They start off in time, but end up wandering away from each other (the beat and the vocals.) Do y'all know the tempos or is there some kind of secret to lining that shit up or what?

Thanks.

Yeah, if you haven't got the exact correct tempo, then your song may sound good, but will gradually go off tempo. The was a post in here from a week ago listing all the main acappella, tempos thanks to Taco Zip >>> http://www.beastieboys.com/bbs/showthread.php?t=21925 (Tempos)
One way to combat this a little is to try and slice up the acappella into sections i.e. Verse 1, chorus 1, verse 2 etc. This might give you more forgiving results, but getting the exact tempo is the sure fire way though.

One kind of prehistoric method of finding out a tempo I do is to get the original full (not acappella) album track into the sequencer (FL, Acid or whatever) and play it along with the sequencer's metronome (the click, tick noise) and tweak the bpm/tempo at the same time. Note that not all tracks a have rounded tempo numbers like 100, 115 .... some will have a fraction of a beat in there too like 100.800 bpm for example.

Yeah setting the tempo can be kind of difficult if you're not into it. But it's probably one of the most important thing to do when remixing.
Try the metronome like Landos Dad says.
Acid also has a function called the Beatmapper wizard to help you with it. Do some practice with it. Good luck (y)

I forgot to thank Taco for those BPMs, it really helped me alot and gave me one less thing to worry about. Remixing is fun to do but also very challenging at the same time.
