Hey everyone, I'm new here but allow me to introduce myself. I used to release a lot of instrumentals about three years ago, until my hard drive fried and I was unable to recover any of my music. Because of this I had stopped remixing for a very long time, but finally after years of not releasing any finished work I have completed the first of what shall be many remixes from me over the next couple of months.

Directely inspired by To The 5 Boroughs I have completed a remix of "Intergalactic", one of the Beastie Boys' most popular songs of all time. This remix features a brand new beat made by yours truly as well as several other little surprises that fans of the Beastie Boys will be sure to appreciate. I plan to remix "So Watcha Want" and even possibly "Body Movin" over the next few weeks or months so and I will update this thread/make new posts as more information becomes availible.

For now you can access my remix via a player brought to you by a joint effort between me and my friend Keaton Hashimoto by clicking here (http://www.broken-silence.net/beastie-remix/). (You will need Flash to view the player).

Shall you have trouble streaming, as many have, you can also download the song via a link to an mp3 (in cd quality) on the player itself.

Enjoy!

P.S. This is my first remix workin with an acapella, so go light if it aint the best thing you've ever heard. :)

I like the way you played with the sample to make a tune (y)

Thanks for the comments everyone. I'm glad people didn't eat me up with my first remix.

Stay tuned for "So watcha want" though. It's gonna take ages but I plan to have some nice guitar and even, a sample from another song. Should be amazing.

I would add a little more prevalent drums, and add some bass. I can add some stuff on if youd like me to.

The large kick in the song is actually intended to be the bass in the song itself, but I'll probably mess around and try to make a bassline for it in a little bit. I'd love to add drums but I cant find anything that allows me to make my own shit, so any suggestions as to what I could download? I really want to have a virtual drum machine for my So Watcha Want remix, but I need suggestions on software and shit to download, so I can make this mothaf*cka sound dope.

Mixman, but my version's old. I'm actually trying to get something better as my loop/beat selection is very limited compared to most programs out there.
