the beasties take the stage with their instruments and being to play sabotage.
just as adrocks begins his opening scream, elvis costello runs out and says "sorry, we cant play this song tonight" and they jam on one of his songs

It was "Radio Radio" by Elvis Costello. The story is that back in the late 70's, Elvis ws on SNL and wanted to play that song, but the powers-that-be wouldn't allow him to b/c of the song's criticism of radio/music industry. So as they expected him to do, he started to play another of his songs, but after playing just a little bit of it, he stopped and launched the band into an intense version of "Radio Radio". The thing with the Beasties (on a SNL 25th anniversary special, I think) was a modern re-enactment of that.
