VH1.com provides an interesting service: you choose your favorite artists on the site, and you receive news about them by email. It’s great because everyone likes 40 or 50 different artists, and you can’t browse 50 websites regularly enough to stay informed, or subscribe to 50 mailing lists.
The problem is that they only focus on trash news (who just divorced? Who’s a drug addict?), and their mails are full of flashing advertisement banners for DVDs.
We built something different: a 'light' forum where people can post music-related news. Then you can tell the site what you're interested in (bands, festivals, halls, media...) and have the related posts sent to you by mail each X days. We have no banner, no popup, and nothing to sell... News are provided by fans or bands themselves, so it really focuses on music. This was made only to help spread music-related news to anyone interested.
We’d like to compete with VH1, but we have absolutely no means except our goodwill.
Please support our effort, help us be a real non-commercial alternative !
