I got the same, two GA tickets. Funny thing is, I've lived in SF for almost 8 years, been to many MANY venues here (Bimbos, Maritime Plaza, Fillmore, Warfield, Great American Music Hall), but I've NEVER been to the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium.

I hear it's pretty nice though.

GA.... GA! I wonder how early I'll have to show up with my homeboy to secure a good spot.. and having Talib as an opener will be great!

Two things:

Stoffel79: The man just wants to say he bought some tickets to the SF show. Get off his ass already. And if you don't like it then hey fuck you!

Secondly, has the SF show sold out yet? Just curious...

The Auditorium is pretty good for concerts. Its a good size (smaller then
oakland arena). I saw beck there in 2000 and the sound was pretty ok
and its was all general amdission then i believe. It worked out ok
because the seats and floor filled up nicely.. It should sound better
then oakland arena or the Shark Tank for sure..

I'll be there too.
Anyone know how big the BG auditorium is? I get the idea it will be fairly intimate compared to Shoreline and concord. However I've never seen a show at this venue. Any thoughts on it's size compared to say the fillmore or the warfeild? :p
I am so stoked!

its not exactly 'imtimate'.. its like a 'grade b' arena in size. maybe similiar
to the cow palace. i would guess maybe like 7-10 thousand depending on
the configuraion of the stage and such. so maybe like half the size
of a typical sports arena.

if you want to be super dork like me you can look here:

http://www.billgrahamcivic.com/sales/capacities.htm

it says 7000 balcony seats but many will be obstructed.. so maybe there
are like 7-8 thousand GA seats? just a guess.

It'll be a great show, I saw them do the .. Ill Communication tour at the BG in SF back in the mid ninties, Cypress Hill and this band called "Hoods and Hooligans" opened for them. Anyone else at that show?
