I know they had some hits before that, but Ms Jackson was an international super hit and brought them to a wider audience which made them famous. i would think that "all the small things" or "whats my age again for blink is their song, because i doubt anybody who isnt a fan would even really remember the song, and the fact that people who dont listen to their music would know those songs is what gives them the "world famous" deal

for the presidents, i would say "lump" or maybe even "mach 5" because they came out first, and most people recognize those tunes

jabumbo, green day were huge when dookie came out. the singles from that album were longview, welcome to paradise, basket case and when i come around. i think longview was the first single. i'm not sure which single was the real breakthrough, but they were definitely huge before Brainstew, which was about their response to success.
