is this a BLATENT jack??

this is mine... created back in the beginning of june:
I leaked it to soulseek, kazaa and aquisition...
(and was posted on the beastie boys message board as well)

http://www.broke-ass.com/CheapCologneBeastieBoysHoldItNowRemix.mp3

now go to www.djgreenlantern.com and listen to his "green mix" of "hold it now"

what are the chances he is going to mash up the same 18 year old song with the same beat???

you tell me...

p.s. my vocals are synched better.

anyways... more of my beastie remixes here:

Yeh, thought that too when I heard it!! Heard your version first & loved it.
I've heard a 3rd play on that as well though off Dr Numbers Presents Still Ill Vol 1, mixing in Pass the Mic around the Jayz's original rhymes on 99 Problems. If this guy stole ya idea & is trying to pass it off as his own tho then I can see why your annoyed, though it could be a co-incidence, stranger things have happened.

Yeah, I can see why you would be annoyed. Don't know if would of helped to of copyrighted the idea in some way... although I reckon it wouldnt of helped that much.
All I can say is well done with your "first there" and vision for the mash-up.
Chin up ;)

thanks man... I hear ya.

what sucks the most about it is:
now people are going to think I bit him when they hear my remix..
if they heard his mixtape first.

lame.

Why are there 2 threads about this?

Well, anyways. Maybe you two were separated at birth. It is possible that green lantern didn't copy you as people like to sample the latest tracks and mix it with their classic favorites. The only way to avoid this is to go original.

On one level I feel you. It sucks when that happens, even when its not a bite and just a freak coincidence. I've had the same thing happen to me plenty of times. I've got a sample in a track that nobody has used and its on the internet or whatever and then a year later I hear the shit on the new CocoBravas record or somthing. Honestly, most of the time its just coincidence. But, in this case, yeah, it is kind of odd. I fully agree with you on that.

But really, we're talking about bullshit "mashups" anyway. Lets be honest, its an accapella over an instrumental. This is something that anybody can do. Its basically a pitch matching game. THAT'S NOT SKILLS. That's some DJ in a box shit. So, while I definately feel you on feeling robbed, my advice is to move on to real production and scratching. When you come hoooaaaaard and make original shit, with flipped samples and true styles then its impossible for somebody to bite you.

I think you two guys have a different style.....

Weird, though how similar it sounds...

I can verify you had yours up since at least June.

Haha yeah. Its like matching your socks and your shirt as opposed to designing and making your socks and shirt. Unless you're an idiot you can match your socks and shirt, but you have to have real skills to design and make your own.

Come on and let this die would you. Is this really so unfathomable?

Can you ever prove it. =Is it worth how blatently disrespectiful you've been to people on the Green Lantern Board, ruining your own rep.

Come on

I find your post amusing.. if you look at the dates on these posts, I havent even commented on it since the day I made the post. I was mad for a day.

ONE DAY.

I am over it.

I never was "blatently disrespectiful" to anyone on green lanterns board, I posted the same thing here, except there I ended my post with "congrats on the 2 new mixtapes"

again... I am over it.
