I think I figured out the Sonic Foundry Acid thingy.

Today's monster came about rather comically. I was frustrated with the Acid program, so I decided to cut stuff out from the GTA: Vice City behemoths. After a while, I started noting the potential of certain things, and I picked up an acapella that might fit in: "Intergalactic."

Since the GTA files are smushed together, it's kinda hard to decipher what song is which, and that makes determining who I sampled sorta confusing.

Here's the list of stuff I think I used:

Super Strut- Deodato From Radio Espantoso
Al-Naafiysh (The Soul)- Hashim From Wildstyle

The non-GTA samples are:

Sympathy for the Devil- Rolling Stones
Trampled Underfoot- Led Zeppelin

The Spanishbomb deficiency is still at large: I put things at the worst possible moments. I dug this tune, but at times it will feel off. But, as we all know, I've never been squeamish about releasing unsatisfactory products to the masses.

I dubbed it the (Kinda Latin) Mix because there's some organs and latin-ish percussion, but it's also one of my more hip-hopish tracks, given the Hashim sample. Alas, that one got slowed down harshly and the bells are rendered inaudible, but at least a separate synthy part of the song came out okay.

Anyhoo, I'm starting to grasp the basics now, and for better or worst, today's hit is a clear example of that.

Disfruten, amigos, por que esta canción es una chatarra despreciable! Mantengan a los niños muy lejos de esta blasfemia. Please, enjoy:

See Spanbomb, I can dig the nice rhodes piano riff on this, the ideas are nice.
But as I said to BoyZap this here forum is also a place to get some help from others to fix things like your beat and acappella synchronizing.... I just wish you would have posted for some help on that and then I would of heared this remix exectly how you would love it to be heard.... and I would be loving it instead of thinking "nice idea, but I dont think i could listen twice because it's off-tempo" - I could understand if it was you first couple of mixes, but it aint.

Are you willing to fix?
Hope so.

Anyway, still a nice fusion of sounds.

You mean B-Boy Zap (As in breakdance/b-boy) or just DJ Zap.

Sure, I'm willing to fix. The good thing about this ACID program thingy is that nothing is "set in stone."

At the moment, I'm sorta tweaking some moments, removing certain imperfections, adding stuff, etc.

I can say that the tempo is at 106 bpm and that I'm now earnestly trying to make the beats line up with the vocals.

Perhaps by tonight I'll have an "improved" version on the market.

Okie dokie, that was a long delay, wasn't it?

Well, I happen to like this improved version, for the transitions feel somewhat more natural, and I got toked up on the fade-in/fade-out concept, which makes stuff neat as opposed to rapidly alternating in a horendous fashion.

I prefer this one to the original thing I made, which upon further listening, turned out to be down-right confusing. I tried adding and removing stuff, but it just didn't feel right, so I kept the samples pretty much the same, except that the music seems to correspond to the words.

With Allah willing, Lando's Dad will consider listening to this one a few times.. and if not, then at least I can maintain my reputation as a nice sample digger, which, in the end, is what I trully strive to be in your eyes :o

I still like to think that the song has a "latin" feel. I mean, the organs seem to acomplish that, as do the Stone's neat-O percussion. The hipitty-hop sounds of the drum machine are there to fit in with our robot pal.

For all we know, space androids are invading some Spanish-speaking area, like Uruguay or Costa Rica, and the locals attempt to use culture-shock as a way to defeat the machines.

That, or I just drank some bad Tabasco sauce.
