Gotta free the Funky Finch from the Funky Finch Cage on this one.
Shake Your Rump (Funky Finch Remix) (http://homepage.mac.com/mark_m84/mcremixes.html)
I learned a few lessons from my last remix, so I decided to learn from my previous mistakes and start my next remix on the right note. First off, I came correct with the right BPM (that’s a big one). Second, I’m sticking to one theme, instead of jumping into different styles every verse. Third, I listened to the original version before starting.
Now, about this mix. This mix has started out as a 2nd choice for the $5 Extra contest and for the past month I've been working on it since. I have always wanted to remix SYR with a jungle like theme, even before I had the software to do so. But why is it called the funky finch remix? It’s a dedication to my funky finch, you see every time I’m doing work on my laptop and listen to the Beastie Boys. My funky finch will pop out of it’s nest and start singing. This finch is a ill singer, so I had to sample him.. My remix would feel empty without him.
No samples were used in this remix unless you want to count the Funky Finch Sample. Enjoy it and be sure to Shake Your Rump Funky Finch style ;)
All suggestion (y) / (n) are welcomed.

Fricken excellent mix!
Did you play the fuzz bass and guitar on there or are they sample loops?
The finch is great...especially at the break.
I still found it a little inconsistant with the sound styles, I'm not sure if I can remember a distictive hook after listening, but still, it was entertaining.
One major gripe was that the vocals are really low in the mix.
Still your mix was brilliant and you get the Lando's Dad double thumbs up jedi award (y) (y)

Clearly you're making quick progress. This one has an infectious groove from the start. That percussion is excellent and textured beautifully. I agree with Landos on the low vocals and the strange instrument/effect selections, but those can be fixed in a jif. All in all, excellent shit and I look forward to more.
I also give it the double thumbs up Jedi award. (y) (y)

I don't really got the got the skills to play the instruments, but those guitar samples are all loops. I wish I knew how to play instruments though, it would save a lot of time searching for the right loops. About the vocals, I realized I had the old version up, someone told me on the hub the same thing, but now its fixed. An updated version is now up with the vocals raised.

The B-Boys have assaulted some Nintendo-loving Brazilians and forced them to play background music thanks to you :D

Hope you don't see that when you're listening to my remix. :D
Thanks for the comment.
on a side note MarkedCube will never force or hire anyone to make loops for his remixes. No Funky Finches were harmed during the production of this remix.

Sorry man. Its doesn't flow that well.
Its off beat abit in different parts.
Alittle to herky jerky for a hiphop feel.

Wow thats weird. I started a remix of the same track that sounds a lot like yours a little bit. Its just barely started though. Haven't done any work on it since August 18th.
Kinda weird.

MarkedCubes goes off beat at some points. I don't know why, but it sounds horrid. Other than that, very well done (y)

Seems like you're caught in the middle of a 2-way mix :D
The recent comments are making me question my mix. I could see the herky jerky part, next time I'll use fade ins/fade outs for smoother transitions between different sets of beats. About the off-parts, I got to dig deeper into that. I've started working on my next mix, hopefully I can finish it before October and eerriikk, I'll be sure to check out the final version of your Shake your Rump. ;)
