Tripper Trouble 8/13/04
made with Acid 4.0

First boot from the new album!

It consists of:
-Triple Trouble - The Beastie Boys
-Day Tripper- The Beatles
-one Guerrilla beat from Paris and one funky drum loop from a Scarface breakbeat record
-sample from the Beatles and some DJ on a radio show long, long ago
-a couple more small drop-in samples
-sample from Bob Dorough's "3 is a Magic Number," of course widely known from the De la Soul classic "The Magic Number" and is included here in tribute to my hero, DJ Prince Paul and of course De la. The Dorough song was also the one that inspired the entire "Schoolhouse Rock" series which was big on TV in the US in the 70's and early 80's.

If you dig, check out www.djbc.net/mashes
there are more beastles mixes and other stuff.

Again great fusion.
Vocals a little muffled for me, dunno if you were trying to degrade them to make em sound old.
Nice mash ;)

Another groovy mash up. I like the match-up as well; who'd of thought those two songs would mesh so well? At first the sped up lyrics irked me a bit, but once it gets movin' they don't harm the mix all that much. The title is a hoot too, very clever. Nice work.

although this kinda sounds like a 'Beastie Boys on crack' remix, it's definitely good. yet another Beatles-Beasties mesh, which I always appreciate :)

If you want a real opinion:
E for Effort, T for nice try
Reason: The sped up lyrics were too noticible and distracting at times, plus I really don't think it mixed too well with the track, and the music wasn't hittin hard enough for such a song....sorry but thats my opinion
However I did like the "3 the magic number" incusion...
The Idea is OK....I am not a huge beatles fan but thats one of their better songs...
I think if you overhauled it by say, cutting up the beatles part more, as to help it match the vocals and not have vocals try and keep up with it, and...
put a nice drum beat along with it as ringo drums aren't enough, it could be cool..
I just give striaght opinions cause thats the way to do it.
Sonic foundry's acid is a nice and user freindly program, I suggest also you try using Sonic Foundry Sound Forge, which helps to fine tune, edit samples, and master songs

Ah, the finely tuned ear of landos dad. Thats actually a by-product of Acid's pitch shift (when keeping the key intact) function. It gets that wavery sound. Sometimes it works, sometimes it sounds odd. I thought it worked ok here.

Thanks to all for the comments! :p

Thanks man. I am not too worried about it. I get enough positive feedback that advice I dont mind. I would respond to the fellow who is giving advice that this is actually draft # 7 or 8, and I tried a number of different approaches in terms of where the drums came in, the length of the beatles samples etc. This worked best in terms of flow and smoothness of transitions.

But I do plan to try some other softwares, as Acid 4.0 does have it's limits sometimes. But I do love it so...

I meant you should use sound forge in conjunction with acid...same company makes both. there miqht be a way on sound forge that would change vocal speed while keeping pitch true that sounds better, possibly, yea I hate how acid does that when you change pitch, my only real problem with that program is that. Fruity loops is a fun program, esecially for making drums...
Reason is supposed to be good, but it's expensive//// the demo version is neat to mess with but also annoying because you can only use it for 20 minutes and can't save amongst others. Pro Tools is what alot of people use, but I never really messed with it. Man, music is expensive!!
well, anyway I wasn't tryin to be hateful with my critique, I think when anybody gets involved with music its great. People gotta be honest though, its hard to progress if everyone always is like "yea wow"
oh well...maybe i'll make a re-mix and let people make fun of me... just gotta get some progs and find some ah, capellas. You got a link to it?
keep it up!!!

HOLY.... I feel bad for letting some people down, but I like this one better than the original....*tear* I love you. I never really liked Triple Trouble as much as most other TT5B songs, except Crawlspace (ugh), and this just turned me around. GREAT!

It was nice, though if I were you I would've slowed it down (just not in Acid, we all know how that ends up)

Hey, thanks Elusive... I appreciate the support, and the tips. I have only used Acid so this is good information. And thanks for the info on Soundforge freeware's limitations. I tried the free Acid and it drove me crazy for a while before I bought it. So it is good to know that.

Rock on. I mean Rap on. I mean... :D
