They were supposed to do a tour with Rage Against the Machine right before Zack left Rage. They did a tour where they had different bands opening in different cities. The only band I can think of that opened for them on that tour is No Doubt. I don't remember if it was that same tour or not. Who did they tour with for Hello Nasty?

Oh yeah they toured on Lollapalooza in 1994 with Green Day, The Breeders, Nice Cave, George Clinton, L7, Smashing Pumpkins and a bunch of other bands.

On the Milwaukee stop for Hello Nasty in '98, Tribe opened for them. It was the Tribe's last tour, and it was DYNOMITE!

I remember the Jon Spencer Blues Explosion supported them @ Brixton academy in March '95 & as someone already stated Rollins Band in '92 in Europe- I think they alternated who headlined.

They toured with Rancid for a few shows in 98 during the In the Round tour and also were with them at a few festivals in Europe.

Yeah it was a few shows that they had no doubt open. I remember Biz Markee did some of the Hello Nasty shows too.

Hello Nasty 98 in Vancouver

Tribe Called Quest

Not to mention Lolla 94 in Toronto, Tribe's set was probably the best hip hop concert I've ever seen, even the bouncers were groovin'

A better question would be who should we be expecting to open for them on this tour? With Grandroyal now defunct, we can't just assume that they would have someone on that label perform.

You'll have to forgive me, I was at the show and therefore in an altered state of mind. I do believe that is what they told the crowd at the time though, however, I could be wrong.

Hey, Laver1969, were you at the show? Billy_Kidmann and I were seated in front of a guy that was older than us and was still partying. Maybe we partied and didn't even know it.

You know what, I never heard of them until you mentioned them. It turns out they are a shitty (or should I say shite) band from Scotland. Never heard of them over here in the States.
I took my name from the Steely Dan tune (Deacon Blues with an s) about a jazz musician who feels free in the nightlife he calls home, eventhough others think he is crazy. He plans on losing in life, and wants a name for himself (Deacon Blues). Of course this is just one interpretation. "Drink Scotch whiskey all night long, and die behind the wheel." Ahh, poetry.
I was actually introduced to Steely by the Beasties when they sampled Black Cow on Paul's B.
So that is your more than you wanted to know explanation.

I'm a chicken hawk huntin' for a chicken...
