J to the K and his crazy ways

I saw something on tv the other day, possibly a political advertisement, in which John Kerry said something to the effect of "I protected this country thirty years ago and when I'm elected president I'll continue protecting it."

Which is funny, because I thought even John Kerry would have realized by now, especially after protesting and all, that the war in Vietnam really wasn't about protecting the United States.

Well neither is this war in Iraq, so I guess when he says he'll "continue" he isn't that far off.

Assuming that both of you are correct. John Kerry protected America thirty years ago (vietnam) and will continue to do so (Iraq), and neither conflict as you say has anything to do with protecting America; Then in essence he is saying he will do nothing, which is both accurate and honest. See, we can all get along.
