In a print ad for the Austin show it says "This is a no sneaker jam. Dress to impress." While I have no problem dressing to impress, this suprised me. Is there an actual dress code of no sneakers or is it just the attitude they want you to take or what?

Yeah, man. You didn't p/u the new Village Voice? Big 2 pp spread in the center. Sez:

"Beastie Boys Pagent Tour
This is a no sneaker jam. Dress to impress. No B.S."

Well, the show this weekend in Miami (Crobar) is no sneakers for real. No hats, bandanas, shorts, jerseys or flip flop. Jeans better look right and not "retarded" (yes, that's actually what the girl said on the phone). She said you wouldn't get away with sneakers if they could see them. So, if my jeans are hanging over my Reebok Classics then I'm okay. But wouldn't that make my jeans retarded?Yeah, man. You didn't p/u the new Village Voice? Big 2 pp spread in the center. Sez:

^ Really? I've heard of no bandana shows before (thought I seriously doubt a huge Crips and Bloods battle is going to break out at a Beasties show! :) ), but all that other crap sounds mad retarded. Who cares how you dress for a hip hop concert?

My pal and I were goofing on the idea of going in suits, ties, and fishermen hats, however.

The thing is, it's a club. And it's south Beach. If you'd ever been there you'd understand. It's about as plastic and fake a place as you'll find on earth.

Gorgeous women though. Gorgeous men too, if you know what I'm sayin.

I hear ya!

BTW, I was a little saddened to see the MSG show is being produced by Clear Channel. If Dave Matthews has the balls to refuse to play Clear Channel venues, I think the Beasties ought to as well.
