I got it to work, basically I just gotta say fuck you to the error message and the problem eventually corrects itself.

I didn't notice that previously because my PC speakers have ZERO bass. Literally, I have to transfer stuff onto the mp3 player just to discover the the deeper sounds that these things fail to convey...
