If any of the other Admins. read this and you are able to talk to this guy could you please let him know that there is a kid on the board anxiously waiting for his reply. Thanks, hope everyone has a great wonderful day. :D

I'd imagine whatever the BBoys own views on bootlegging shows is, the venue security will probably not like it if they see someone doin it & prob take action against that person i.e. kick 'em out. Nazi's that they generally are.
I saw Bad Religion recently & the security were kickin kids out for freakin crowd surfing!! I mean come on, it was a hardcore gig!!

Regarding taping policy; it's being looked into for this tour to try and sort something out.

OK. Thanks for the response. Sorry for having two threads on this subject but the other one got way way off topic. If I could i would end the other thread called "Beastie Taping policies?" located in the Beastie Boys live Forum. BTW is this the right place for this thread or should it be in the Live Forum?

Phil,
Have you ever taped at a show?
Do you think by taping a show other people might get physically harmed?
I understand why they might kick someone out for crowd surfing, Someone could get seriously HURT really BAD. The last thing i want is to get kick in the face by some kid, while i'm trying to enjoy and experience a great musical preformence by my favorite band. I remember when i saw a show in Philly during the HN tour there were signs posted all over the place that said "NO CROWD SURFING!" And yes they kicked people out for doing so. At the freedom fest in DC back in '98, 20/20 did a special on kids that were hurt from crowd surfers. I was at that show, it was a real good time, and i had to surf so that i didn't get crushed. I felt bad for all the people that i was on top of; and just my luck, on the 20/20 report they had 10 seconds of me (with the beasties in the back ground) surfing across 100s of people. Then they showed some bloody pics, one girl had a broke nose.(that ain't no fun) I still feel guilt to this day, shit i might have broke somebodies face. Sorry for all the ramblin, but dude, crowd surfing and taping have absolutely nothing in common. No negitivity regarding this subject (taping) is needed nor wanted. Please get some PMA! (Positive Mental Attitude) I' ve got extra, take it: :) :) :D

he was just talking about how the venue security might react.. and i agree with him. i think they will have strict policy against it. they dont give a shit about who's performing they're gonna stick to their policy

I ask you the same question: Have you ever taped at a concert?
I've taped at these venues with no problem: Tweeter Center, NJ. Bonnaroo, TN. Wakarusa, KS. Fox Theater, CO. Mishawaka, CO. the Troc in Philly. State theater in DC. the Electric Factory in Philly. the Tower Theater in Philly. The Palace in Albany, NY. and at least 15 other venues.
I believe that you are talkin' out your ass, fool! Ya should stop thinking before you hurt yourself. At almost all shows it is up to the BAND performing if taping is allowed not the Venue that they are preforming at. At some shows you might get hasseled by a person that don't know better but once they talk to thier boss or if you know the name of someone in management then they gladly let you in.
You think WRONG!
If you have nothing postive or official to say then please don't post in this thread. Extra Cheese go get some PMA. :)

Hello, again extra cheese. Look, i didn't start this post to bicker with you and call people names so...let me be the first to say sorry for callin you a fool, I'll edit that post.(I'm sure there are many topics that you are very knowledgeable about) Why call each other names? THAT is piontless and also childish.
Since you asked: this is the piont of asking for "the official word": If they do allow for taping then i can plan for the show better. i'll know what type of rig to bring. If they don't allow taping then maybe they will record the show themselves and sell it. If they are not allowing people to record (and are not selling it) then i would not be able to record the show or get a copy. But a person that has a "stealth rig" might be able to get it in and illegally tape the show, although this would be piontless if they were selling it. I have never gone "stealth mode" b/c most of the shows i go to allow taping and I don't have a stealth rig. If given enough heads up, a person might be able to borrow one if ness. Sometimes a band may allow AUD recodings and SBD patches, while other only allow AUD recording, which is another reason to know "the official word." Furthermore, I would never steal from the 3,... so if they don't allow taping then i will not tape the show.
I hope this post answered your question.
BTW "can't we all just get a longneck?"
Breath.Listen.Love.
I realized that i'm not given the option to edit that post any more.Sorry.
Hey admins, is there a time limit on how long after you post that you're allowed to edit it?

you're still a dickhead
OK, Pal. Whatever you say, Buddy.
Are you really 26 yrs old?
I ask this b/c you communicate like an immature 7 year old.
Furthermore, Admins, if i put extra cheese on my ignore list does this prevent him from posting in threads that i start? He/she seems to have an affinity to provide useless info. For example, you're still a dickhead

Settle down dickhead!
I'm kidding.
It is true that most venues do have a standard rule about recording. Johnny responded to another one of your posts about this and said he is trying to find out. I think he just doesn't know anything at this point.
Be nice kids. Extra Cheese, go have a beer.
