I. The Iraq War
1. The cause of which changes depending on the latest information. Ask people why they think we are in Iraq, you will be surprised at the answers you receive. There was a CNN article that quoted a lady saying we should have done this earlier and we could have prevented Sept 11th. This is crazy; every investigation into Sept 11th said there was no connection between Iraq and the terrorists. The people were mainly from Saudi Arabia and were financed by Al Qaeda. We committed around 10,000 soldiers to fight this threat in Afghanistan, which allowed Osama bin Laden to escape and still threaten us to this day. Currently we have over 100,000 in Iraq to do what? Al Qaeda was not in Iraq before we attacked. Unfortunately, they are conducting operations there now.
2. More importantly the loss of life, which will break a 1000 before to long. Not to mention the thousands of Iraqis civilians that lost their lives in this needless war.
3. The cost of which is Approx 130 Billion dollars. This is not play money; this will need to be paid for by tax dollars of our’s and future generations. Visit the web site below
4. We are not making ourselves safer by occupying the Iraq. In fact we have created many more Arabs who hate America and would be volunteers for extremist organizations.
5. The profit to be gained by the Bush Administration, no matter what happens they and their supporters will profit in the millions.
6. I love the US soldiers serving today. In fact I was one until a few years ago. I do not want to see their blood spilled for some political agenda.

II. The 442 Billion dollar deficit! (Largest in the history of the US.) Hello higher taxes, no matter who the president is.

III. Bush has lost more jobs in his term than he has created.

IV. The world wide opinion of the US went from extremely positive and supportive to negative almost anti-us. He personally damaged some of our strongest alliances. (I.e. France, Germany, etc.)

V. Medicare premiums have risen 17%, the highest rate hike ever, over the last year. He cornered seniors into committing to a single plan for buying drugs, which the pharmaceutical companies can renegotiate whenever they like; he blocked the government from negotiating better prices for drugs

VI. I could go on but this is already to long…

People on both sides need to return to the issues and discuss the very serious problems facing our nation. Unfortunately, for the Bush supporters, this is difficult due to the fact that most of these are related or a direct result of the Bush administration.

I’m a Republican turned independent whos going to vote democrat BTW..
