Not exactly. The terrorists wish to see the complete downfall and destruction of Western society. This has nothing to do with what terrorists want. It has to do with realizing that whether you like it or not, the US is part of a greater community which it effects and is effected by. By saying "we should give ear to our neighbors," I'm not suggesting that the US should succumb to the wish or whim of other countries. Rather, I'm just suggesting that an outside perspective can often be constructive when making important decisions.

C'mon...that type of reasoning is as ridiculous as your signature! Don't you think that there are citizens as well as statesmen (and women) that remember WWII? Surely that atrocity was far more devistating and took many more lives than the 9/11 attack. I'm not trying to downplay the seriousness of the attack, but to say that other countries have not experienced severe hardship due to war is just ignorant.

I am amazed that poll is as close as it is. Here in Britain, I dont think I have spoken to a single person who has anything to say in favour of Bush, I thought the other poll that was like 90% -10% in Kerrys favour was more like what I would expect, I guess a lot of conservatives automatically go for Bush
How many were killed in Spain?
in proportion to their total population, it was as devastating as 9/11 was.
at any rate "they weren't hit hard enough" is a shitty excuse. terrorists attacked them. they responded by voting out the government, and they still don't like ours. i imagine they would have if they lost 3,000 people or 3,000,000 people as well.

Who cares what the world wants? I'm not voting for Bush but, my vote won't be swayed because of what the rest of the world wants.

The rest of the world cares. No one is expecting you to vote the way the rest of the world goes, its just an observation that is relevant to the many people who live outside of the States.
This outcome of this election probably has more bearing on the lives of people in countries around the world than their own elections - yet we cant vote, but its why we take an interest.
