Hello: Posted this a couple of days ago on a different forum board: it didn't get much insightful response, so I'll try this one...
Hi,
I bought a CD on my holiday to Brazil: in the UK we pay ~£15.99 (~$29 currently) for CDs, but there it was reasonably priced (£8), so I picked it up. However, the disc would not work either my Sony stereo player, or either of my two (quite expensive) CD computer CD drives, or even my PS2 (the first track starts on the PS2, but none of the other tracks play): every other CD I have ever tried has worked on all 4. I tested it on my dad's £300 gold plated Marantz CD player: yeah, it worked on that. But I haven't got one. So this CD doesn't work for me, and I don't have the equipment a parent or a EMI executives play CDs on, so I called up EMI asking if something could be done. The lady on the phone said she couldn't do anything - giving the advice that she had bought stuff from America, and sometimes it 'can be dodgy', and that the record company would not take reponsibilty, because it was a foreign department of EMI. Since I'm not going to spend money on a plane ticket to go back to Brazil and get a refund, and EMI won't take responsibilty for my CD, it's useless to me.
Is there a fan mail (snail mail) address I can write to the Beastie Boys at, because they may as well have it back.
According to your (pretty snobbish) FAQ,
"How can I get in touch with the band?
If you need to ask this, you don't need to know. Sorry."
but I think writing fan mail doesn't really overstep the boundaries of any fan (because I still am one).
Thanks,
