Hey guys
Having downloaded and listened to many of the remixes available here its made me think i would like to do the same also, and hopefully share the fruits of my labour with you too. Only problem is I haven't got a clue where to start. Can I download software off the net and how much would it cost? All i think i would need is a program that allows samples and can maybe remove vocals and add your own bass, drums etc. All advice would be much appreciated.
Thanks

I'm probably the last person that should be giving advice, but here goes:

First, you'll need Acid. This thing takes forever to download, but it's worth it since it everyone seems to have it, and, well, you've seen what they can do.

Next, you'll need a wave editor. With this, you can cut out little sections of songs. Then you can use Acid to loop those pieces.

In addition, it's handy to have a drum machine. If you cant afford it, get Hammerhead. It's just like the real thing. Plus, you can add your own "beats" to make patterns with. Easy to learn, hard to master.

The others will give you more links to other programs... I'm just giving you the freebies I use.

Just remember that he two most imporant things you need to do this are:

1. Creativity: Take cooky ideas and play around with them. The whacker and wackier, the better. Ingenuity is key.
2. Talent. Some people have it, some of us don't.

I have item #1.

Anyhoo, I'm gonna see the Beasties today! Yay!
