Which tells us that...

People are ideots.

One of the most memorable things from college was one my professors saying that the first rule of business is "Never underestimate the stupidity of the American public!"

Interesting piece of propaganda...well put together. It's funny how you can take sound bites spanning a period of over ten years and make someone say pretty much anything you want them to. I'm not saying that there's nothing to it, but certainly if many of those quotes were put in context the result would not be nearly as flip-flopish as this piece would have you think. While I'm not a huge fan of Kerry, he has one major thing going for him in my book: he's not George W. Bush.

It does seem that Kerry has wavered back and forth on certain issues. Many will see this as a sign of weakness or of having unsure footing. But it may also indicate the ability to make decisions appropriate to the situation, rather than clinging desperately to failed ideas. It seems though that most people take comfort in the stability of familiarity; even a miserable familiarity.

In an ideal situation there would be more choices and options; candidates who truly represented the American populace. However, as it is we have two options; neither of which, in my opinion, accurately represent the population.

I look at it as if I were on the board of directors of a very large corporation with billions of dollars and millions of jobs at stake. I see that our current CEO has for the past four years systematically driven the company towards bankrupcy as well as alienated and infuriated many of the other multi-billion companies with which we do business. In addition, his poor business plan has caused many of our dearest and most trusted employees to lose their benefits and jobs. So now I'm given the choice to either give the guy another chance to make things right, or help elect a new CEO who has a fair amount of support, but whom I know little about. It's a tough call...but though there's an element of uncertainly with dipshit number 2, it's alot less frightening than the glib certainty of dipshit number 1.

So yeah, Kerry's getting my vote whether he flip flops or not. Sorry for rambling.

Phosphoros is not going to be BSd' Yep couldn't agree more with what he says, give me 10 years of Mr. Rogers tapes you'll see a real life monster.

I sensed that this video was a cut and paste job. Why would anybody in their right mind not investigate each source and read the full article or watch the whole show. I've read the ed/op's Kerry has written, the first sentence sets the tone for the 9/6/02 article. All snippets out of context.

Whether these quotes and video feeds are taken out of context or not, I think it does a good job of showing why Dean would have been an infinitely better candidate for the Democrats. But he got too big and too popular, so the media had to destroy someone they just built up.

This video was paid for by the RNC and Bush/Cheney team, but hell, I'd love to see a similar 12 minute video of Bush quotes reversing a grand multitude of positions throughout the years (the Daily Show did an excellent job of this).

No matter what faults you can attach to Kerry, you're gonna find WAY worse in Bush.
