So can any mod tell us if we'll be getting pre-sale info for this show?
Preferably before the actual sale date.

OH. MY. GOD.
I am in shock, for real (the good kind of shock, though).
Thank you, Beasties. (y)
See you guys there!

I think I've settled down a bit since finding out this morning... They read the lyrics to Brass Monkey on 89.9 just a while ago and I tried desperately to call in.
How fast do you think this one will sell out?
I really really want to go. one problem : none of my friends like the boys. im 20 years old and a girl...so anyone down with seeing them with me? give me a shout

Need some company, I'm totally willing to be an escort to the Beastie Boys :P
I have flaky friends so I don't like to rely on them deciding to tag along or not... Gimme a shout

I doubt you'd wanna hang with a bunch of 30-year-old-marrieds, eh? LOL! This is a big deal to alot our friends. High school would not have been the same without the BB.
Question. Can you only book floor seats through presale? Or anywhere in the venue?

Hell yeah! I've lived in Ottawa most of my life and I never thought I'd see this day!!
At least someone's making use of the Corel Centre since there's no hockey...

Help!
long time lurker who finally registered - was there a presale email sent already ? will I get it by the time the presale begins?
Michael K
09-15-2004, 10:25 AM
Yo 'Zug. I got the email today and it says the pre-sale starts at 10am tomorrow...
Also, I head a rumour that Hot 89.9 is giving away backstage passes. I don't listen to the radio but I will start if there is any truth behind this. Anybody listen to that station??

I just thought, there's lots of Ottawa representation here. I wonder if I know any of you folks and we just don't know due to the "digital distance"...

she placed the order today and now we are guaranteed the tix :)
i can see it being possible that we may know eachother or have friends that know eachother...it's always the case in this small city ;)
presales tomorrow...everyone grab your tickets.

This presale shizzle is stressing me out. The link from the email loads nothing but an error page. ARGH! I've suffered through two cancelled Beasties shows, I will not miss my chance at this.
Suggestions?

Yeah the most I have ever spent for a concert ticket. However, my friend really likes the Beastie Boys, so it is worth it.

the most i have spent was 105 this summer for Madonna..nothing seems expensive after that :P

Ouch... but I suppose it is worth it to see Madonna in concert.

Well I got my 2 tickets....$60 each plus all those ridiculous surcharges.
I got floor seats but I'm a little confused. My tickets have a row and seat number on them but there was a notice on the CapitalTcikets site that said all floor seats are standing room only....which is it? Seats or standing? I prefer standing.
I am still in total shock that the Beasties are coming to Ottawa.
GrapeApe

UPDATE:
I called Capital Tickets and confirmed that floor seats are actually standing room only.
WOOHOO MOSH PIT!!! ....kidding, kidding.
Now to figure out a way to meet the boys or get backstage.

Got my floor tickets as well (a group of 4 of us are going together). Frankly, I think $60 is pretty cheap to get a chance to see the Beastie Boys perform in our own backyard, so to speak. Especially considering this is my momentous first time seeing them live and the fact that I'm gonna have the time of my life, jumping up and down, rhyming along, and just going crazy on the floor of the Corel Centre.
GrapeApe, I hear ya. The shock won't subside until I see MixMaster Mike with my own eyes, warming up the crowd with some ill scratching techniques (that image gives me chills of excitement just thinking about it). As for the tickets, it's standing room only, indeed. We're gonna have to get to the Corel Centre pretty damn early to line up, just to get a good spot on the floor (I'm guessing that's how it works). Case in point, the one and only time that The Roots came to Ottawa (in the summer of 2000), my buddy and I got to the event about 5 hours early, so that we could stake our claim on front row centre. But that was at Lebreton Flats, and this is at the Corel Centre. I've never attended a general admission concert at the Corel Centre before. Do they just open the doors at the scheduled time and just let us go nuts? Either way, it's gonna be one hell of a party, no doubt. (y)

Got mine! We chose to be in the stands though. Level 1. I gotta say, I expected them to be way more expensive! We got 5 tickets for not that much more than 2 Metallica tickets with better seats!
I was so stressed last night I couldn't sleep. Had to take one of my daughters to gymnastics classes and yell at my husband from my cell to do it right ... Phew!

I was at The Roots in 2000 too...great band, great show.
I'll be arriving at the Corel Centre around 2pm on the 10th I think.

Got my tix...yeah!!!! The row and seat number had me confused too...I want GA.
Not cheap but who knows if the Boys will tour again after this. You guys are seriously getting there at 2:00pm? Damn man, I don't finish work until 4pm. I figure I'll be able to work my way up to the front.
Now, just waiting patiently for Nov.10th...
It's gonna be along wait

I would imagine the reason behind having a row/seat number is so that capital tickets can keep track of how many GA tickets they can sell. It is probably just easier for them this way....

I paid 102 for Bowie when he came to town so it was worth it, this was the second highest I've ever paid.
Anybody know who's opening? And who will dress to impress?

Anyone know anything about an opening act?
Heard a commercial on Hot 89.9 last night and it said "...with special guests," but didn't mention who the special guest might be.
