stupid,stupid,stupid.
obviously people are gonna stick up for the move since its the beasties decision. but its retarded and makes no sense at all. is it a big thing? no its not but still why bother? i'm sure most people would want a band they never heard of opening up instead of watching dogs jump around or whatever they do.

It's a half an hour dog show, and it's good in my opinion. Check it out if you want to, if not, skip that bit. Easy.

That dogshow was totally weak. Weak!
I saw the show in San Diego, and here is why I thought it was lame.
1.) They dropped the house lights just before the dogshow, so naturally, everyone thinks that Tailb Kwali is starting. Wrong. We got the dog show. Why do you have to drop the house lights for a dogshow?
2.) The damn dogs were literally, jumping onto each other's backs from height. I'm talking like 10'. Why am I standing in the middle of a crowd of people watching animal abuse? Since when did it become cool to abuse animals on stage prior to a concert?
Lose the dogshow. It was way lame, and not necessary. Christ, if you need to do something, go and find a local DJ to spin some stuff. It'd probably be cheaper, and it would probably get the crowd into the show.
Dog show = lame and weak

Definately seems like a questionable move, just dropped $106 on 2 ticks to the Detroit show. Curious to see how a dog show goes over here. Really don't see how it matters though, as long as it doesn't take away from anyone else's set.

Those doggies do cute tricks. Plus, it's offbeat, so you gotta expect that from the guys who claim to have been abducted by a sasquatch.

I thought it might be dumb but it was off beat and pretty short (like 20 minutes) but it might have been my imagination but the crowd was toally into it and chearing for the dogs and such.. It was actaully entertaining
more then i thought..

People will eat that up here in wa state. Since, animal abuse, people abuse, and ethnic abuse is common. And, permitted and overlooked by many if not most. Though, for the most part the world is a better place. There are still some issues uncorrected!!!!
I would be teed off if I find that I am spending a great deal of my time looking at some animals I can see on the streets for free! Feel me!
Don't the beasties think more highly of themselves! Why all the sudden the need to be total kennel! Aren't there enough Bitch#$ in Hollywood.
Hell....first sasquash, now dogs, what's next? Alligators and gorillas....next third world children from circuses? Or, better yet like Ja rule keeps talking bitchy about kangaroos and monkeys. One animal of which he kinda looks like? Don't have to guess which one, huh?
If they must go here....why not keep the buddhas in the background. To remind of us spritual enligthenment?
This is all my personal opinion...Even my friend agrees....The Beastie have too many albums and major flows to stoop so low!
why do so many seem to think training a dog is cruel?
If i recall they use treats and not whips.
I suppose having my pet cat that sits for treats is wrong?
The dogs were wierd but cute and kinda interesting. It's the first act if you dun like go get a beer or some food. You're still getting MORE than your monies worth when the beastie boys get up on stage.
No one said you had to liek them but going so far as saying The boys are promoting animal cruelty cause of some guy that trains dogs.

When I saw the "Trick Dog Show" act listed as opening act for the Red Rocks show before Talib, I thought it was a great name for an MC...but much to my surprise, it was actually a trick dog show in every sense...
I love dogs and have one in our family. Dogs LOVE to get rewarded when you train them to do something. I thought they were awesome, a great way to open up the BBOYS evening with a lighthearted attitude. It's all entertainment, afterall.
If you are looking to accuse someone of animal abuse, unfortunately there are more appropriate places to do so in EVERY city in this country than at your local concert venue.
Skip the dog show if you don't want to see it...but I personally wanted to steal every dog on stage! They were adorable.

Yeah, I don't know what I think about this Dog Show idea. It's sure as hell not a mood-setter for a concert, I'll tell ya that. And there's plenty of fun bands they could have brought on tour with them -- I think they could even have paid Devo in dog biscuits.
A dog show is an insipid idea. They should have made it a cat show.

I enjoyed the dog show. I work with dogs for a living and what I saw didn't look like animal cruelty and I've seen my share of that. I'm sure the Beastie Boys didn't just hire some people off the street, they probably checked to make sure the dogs are kept in humane conditions etc before allowing them to go on tour with them.
Also, must mention how awesome it was to see local animal rescue groups had a table right next to the table that was getting people to register to vote. Both important! Nobody has mentioned that and doing that kind of rescue work myself sometimes, it was cool to see the Beastie Boys are helping out in a small way.

When I spoke of Animal Cruelty, I was speaking to the fact that the damn dogs were literally jumping onto each other from jumps of over 10'. I saw the show in SD, I was standing DFC on the floor, I had a clear view of what I saw, and thats what I saw.
I don't think I'd be too psyched if my friends started jumping off the roof of my house onto my back. Would you be happy about that?
Let me also be clear, I don't think that these dogs are being mis-treated. They are probably living better than I am.

Hmm. I didn't see them do that particular trick at the shows I saw, so I can't really comment on that.

Ummm...no he isn't. If we wanted to watch a phucking dog show we will come to your house or visit a Republican convention :p
We want to watch and listen to the Beastie Boys (or someone with similar talent) especially with today's prices for tickets...

 I thought the Dog Show was cute. I'd rather see that than some band that sucks, which is usually what you see when you view the first band opening. I thought it was great to go from dog show, to Tailb Kwali, to the Beastie Boys. From ok, to good, to great. :D
