SPAM suggestion

....at another site that might also be a vBulletin site, they don't allow you to post hyperlinks for about 25 posts or something (and no pictures until your post count is 100). I think that really cuts down on the SPAM.

If this board has a similar capability, would you folks consider some change like that?

The idea is rather good, but then they'd just start spamming with LOL's and :D :rolleyes: :eek: to raise their amount of posts.

You'd think so, and maybe it would happen, but it doesn't seem to occur on this other board.

Anyway, I think that if it's possible, it's worth a try. But maybe that's just me. SPAM is about one step above annoying pop-up windows.

I'm looking at some hacks for this right now. They all look pretty sucky, but if I can find one that's reasonable we'll roll with it.

we already have a few tricks we've used and installed to avoid spammers. the thing is, i wouldn't wanna see regular members take hits for something spammers have caused. like not being able to post 3 totally random hyperlinks in three totally random replies in three totally random threads that are all still on topic.
