Yawn. Same boring topics, different boring article.
Anyone saying Nader shouldn't run is a douche, plain and simple. If you can't win with some interferance from a 3rd party, you probably aren't worth electing anyways. Nader didn't give Bush the election. Gore being a boring twat who couldn't even carry his homestate would be the person who is responsible for that.
This paragraph sums it all up for me:
"Despite all of this, as I write, Nader is actually polling higher than the 2.74 percent of Americans who provided the votes for his 2000 kamikaze mission--high enough to tip key swing states toward the single worst President in American history. What in God's name will convince Nader's remaining supporters to abandon his lemminglike march? It's hard to imagine what kind of logic will resonate with people who define themselves as leftists and yet remain unmoved by the sight of George Bush and Dick Cheney lying us into war, John Ashcroft attempting to criminalize dissent and Donald Rumsfeld rationalizing rape and torture."
Where is Kerry's criticism of this? Where is the Democrats outrage at this? Where are their solutions? They don't have any. Their willing accomplices to all this. They passed the PATRIOT ACT. They voted for war. They lost to Bush and they deserve to lose again for being disengenious bastards. What Nader convinces most people is that there is an alterntative for voting for the status-quo. Voting for something they actually believe in, not voting out of some irrational fear of "the other guys" when your own guys are the same type of egoist, maniacal bastards. Don't critisize Nader without examining yourself and your own party affiliations.

I think Election reform is a GREAT idea. If you are pinning your election reform hopes on Nader, you're on a sinking ship.

The Kerry stance on election reform sure does make a lot of sense! You've converted me!

Hey don't pin Kerry on me!
All I was saying is that if you want election reform, ORGANIZE FOR ELECTION REFORM. Voting for dopes like Nader is only going to make the problem worse.

So...voting for the only candidate (Other than Cobb) who proposes worthwhile voting reform is the incorrect way to obtain voting reform? Wha?

It's my opinion that Nader will never ever be able to accomplish election reform. Voting for him does very little. I think you would be better off getting organized around an election reform movement independent of any specific candidate.

Which would accomplish? A better plan is to continue voting for Nader. Have the Dems lose the next few elections by close margins. Make them realize we won't put up with their shit. Force them to push through election reforms. Problem solved. "Election Reform" is only an issue 3rd parties will EVER endorse because it takes power away from the Establishment. The one thing the Establishment will never do. Vote Nader until he wins or until everyone else loses. Or start a revolution.

Exactly. At the very least Democrats might adopt some progressive policies.

After researching Nader, I really actually DON'T like him. All he drones on about is how the Republicans and Democrats are exactly the same, blah blah. Vote for him because he's different. Not really, he still accepts dirty money. And just seeing him talk, I sincerely doubt his ability to run a country.

GMA']They passed the PATRIOT ACT.
Yeah, but Kerry's actually against it. Which I don't entirely agree with, but whatever.

Nader is the only one running who is not senile or insane.

I'm disappointed that, as the article said, we've got a horrific war, spiraling debt, and environmental destruction and Bush is up in the polls. :(

Heres the problem
1. Cause: Nader steals votes, FROM SOMEONE, more than likely the democraps.
Effect: Bush either wins, or has a HIGH probability of winning.
2. If nader sides with the democraps.
More swing voters will think that they are all in the same. Also would go against the whole idealogy of the Reform Party.
3. You masturbate.
God kills a kitten.
